A real treat for the neighborhood. On Fridays they get fresh batches of tofu and vietnamese sandwiches and pork buns and all sorts of goodies. They also have Mr. Browns ice coffee which I can't find anywhere else in Bellingham. They have pre-cut tofu for stir fry, and it fries to a beautiful crisp in a wok with some sesame oil. They have a massive selection of noodles, but my favorite are the ones they keep in the fridge with the tofu. I like throwing the noodles into a wok after soaking them in warm water, and dumping the tofu in, with some sesame oil, and adding some ginger and green onions and a little garlic and soy sauce, and then just stir frying the hell out of that. I have no idea how something so simple can taste so good. Better than any restaurant. Total cost is about 3 dollars per meal, yielding three meals. They also have MSG-free Kimchee. The owners are incredibly nice and well respected by...
Read moreThe absolute best source for Asian ingredients in Whatcom County. The family-owned market makes excellent use of small space, filling shelves with an impressive selection of items and brands. While navigating the narrow aisles can be tricky, especially during popular times, it's well worth it. You can find a huge selection of items from China, Japan, India Taiwan, Vietnam and more. Dried soups, noodles, spices, canned goods, all sorts of sauces, fresh produce and refrigerated and frozen prepared foods. The shop has lovely pastries, drinks, and snacks you won't find anywhere else in Bellingham. They also carry dishes including lovely soup bowls, spoons and cups. The prices are very reasonable and the owners are kind, friendly and really helpful. Parking is usually pretty easy (avoid weekend breakfast times when the nearby diner fills up.) Absolutely worth a...
Read moreThis store is blessed with the most caring and knowledgeable shop owners I have ever come across. They know exactly what their store has or does not have and exactly where EVERYTHING is !! One time I came in looking for something that I know they carry, but I could not find it in its usual place. I asked the owner and he went out back to the supply van to retrieve it. They just had been too busy to do shelf replenishment - they know exactly where Everything is, including the supply van. Where could you find such amazing shop owners? Their selection is more South East Asian than Far East Asian, and they have stuff that you could not even find in Seattle, Vancouver, or San Francisco, including some amazingly good Vietnamese instant noodle brands (recommend you try sth...
