Carlmont Village Shopping Center — Attraction in Belmont

Cuter-than-your-average-strip-mall in the middle of Belmont. Frequented mostly by locals, there's no standout anchor that brings em in, aside from perhaps upscale grocery Lunardi's. Instead, there's a collection of seemingly competently-run restaurants (continental, mexican, chinese, japanese, pizza, bagels, etc.), specialty shops (kitchen design, dry cleaning, optometry, salon, chiropractor, convenience store with liquor license, etc.), and a couple of national/regional chains/franchises (Bank of America, Starbucks, Baskin Robbins, Subway, ACE Hardware, Verizon).

The crown gem of this mall used to be Tyler's nursery, a little Eden hidden one floor down from the main level, where a meandering stream ran through rows of interesting plants and trees, under a footbridge and next to a fountain. What a delightful place, as it has the feel of a small town with so much that makes it big at heart. It is the cross roads to many larger thoroughfares that in one direction you'll be near the Ocean and get to Halfmoon Bay or Pacifica the other way to the Bay and the US 101 to San Francisco or San Jose.

Back to the cross roads Carlmont Village has a fabulous Ace Hardware and great food flor dinning out or kitty corner a great little Safeway to get the right supplies to make your own masterpiece of culinary art. Chase Bank is where I go it is across the street and it is always excellent Customer Service. There is a lot more to say about this gem of a place, I do need to explore it more and when I learn of anything else I'll surely share it with...

This Shopping center is always"s clean and there's alot of nice people around here, nice selection of store's and restaurant's too...Gin Mon has the best Chinese food in the Area ! The Mexican restaurant has the Best Burrito's...And there's The Burger place..And Japanese Place that's got to be the Best Japanese food I have ate ..I've been to most restaurant's in the shopping center!
