Compton Gardens is one of Bentonville's finest attractions. The former home site of Dr. Neil Compton, who was a champion for our areas natural spaces and wildlife, has been turned into a showcase Arboretum and nature preserve. Thousands of trees and plants engulf the property making it a sanctuary wildlife. Sitting at the entrance to the Crystal Bridges Museum trail it ushers visitors into a lush world that showcases just how diverse and beautiful the Ozarks can be. Read moreI would not recommend this place until they finish all the new construction, which it seems they’ve been working since September of last year. It is extremely dangerous with all the heavy machinery being driven around, workers have no regard towards pedestrians. Also it’s not much of a garden, it’s just one giant sculpture surrounded by luxury apartments. There’s a path that is connected to the crystal bridge trail but I would also not recommend walking on it because you have to dodge bikers who are notoriously entitled and will not move out of your way. Read moreCompton gardens is beautiful if you want to go for a walk there it does connect to the walkway for Crystal bridges and you can see art work on the trails and you can see the beautiful flora and fauna that is native to the area read more about Dr.Compton and his contributions to our area it’s so beautiful and lots of benches to stop and sit if you need to (like I do ) worth the walk on a lovely spring day and all the plants and trees are marked so you can educate yourself with the names of the flowers and trees take some time to smell the roses...
