The food is a bit different here than other Mexican places. And a quite a bit pricier than the usual. I love their sauces. I have many food intolerances and had to request a salad instead of rice. Rice allergies to one type are rare. And confusing to most people why. They said he would have to ask if he can even do that. I take it they don’t like switching things. But did.
They have an upstairs and voices carry in this building. It was loud. We sat downstairs instead. It’s a small place but too loud for us downstairs also. Music too loud to have a nice dinner for us older folks ( and very sensitive sound processing issues). Then add kitchen sounds. I hate to wear headphones at dinner but thinking about it!
They were short handed. I try to keep that in mind. Their chips may be homemade. A tad stale and not warm. We don’t like them really. Refried beans not very warm in a side cup. Chicken not seasoned much at all but still good with the sauce. Sides are small cups. Guacamole much pricier here. Chunky style.
Husband’s fajitas less chicken than he likes. He’s not a big pepper fan so I took some of those home because I am! A nice size bowl comes with a fajitas full of lettuce, pico, sour cream.
I’ll probably order to go next time. I like the food on occasion. Not a regular place for us.
With a few changes, this could be a five star review from me. And I don’t...
Read moreMy dining experience at Tequila Azul Bistro in Bentonville was a mixed bag. While the food was generally good, there were several aspects of the meal that fell short of expectations.
Firstly, I was disappointed to find that chips and salsa were not included with the meal. This is a common courtesy at Mexican restaurants, and its absence was a noticeable omission.
Additionally, our table was quite small for our party of four adults. It was barely large enough to accommodate our drinks and appetizers, let alone our main courses. This made for a cramped and uncomfortable dining experience.
When my chimichanga arrived, I was surprised to find that it was not fried. Instead, it was more like a smothered burrito. The meat and cheese sauce were flavorful, but it was definitely not what I had ordered. Additionally, the chimichanga was significantly smaller than the restaurant's regular carne asada burrito, despite being priced the same.
Despite these shortcomings, the overall experience was not entirely negative. We enjoyed our time with friends, and the food was generally good. However, I would hesitate to recommend Tequila Azul Bistro to others, given the issues...
