It was a beautiful warm summer's day to venture out to Berkeley in the late afternoon to check out the Rose Gardens. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect, I had heard parking would be a little difficult because there isn't a designated parking lot. But I didn't experience much difficulty, it just took a little bit of patience and a bit of driving slower, in search of a parking space. Parking is completely free and so is the Rose Garden.
The garden wasn't too crowded, but there were plenty of people walking, sitting and admiring the flowers. There are plenty of benches along the perimeter of the many of the flower beds and there are tennis courts off to the side of the garden, which I thought was a little random.
Currently the roses are in full bloom and they're beautiful. Besides them being in their flower beds, they are in full view and capable of being photographed at several different angles. There are stone steps to the garden and another set of stairs towards more beds of roses. Be careful when going down the stairs, they are pretty steep and they are high steps.
While the rose garden is a beautiful and peaceful place to be, I don't know how soon I will be returning, like I said it's not a very large garden, i was able to see the entire garden area in about an hour.
On a warmer less windy day, it could serve as a nice peaceful place to chill, relax, read or write. It's a nice leisure place...
