Cedar Rose Park Pickleball Courts — Attraction in Berkeley

The courts are not kept up well, the surfaces are uneven and one of the courts doesn't even have a net. The city of Berkeley completely redid the King tennis courts up the street, and those we great before they redid them, so maybe they should've spent a little of that money on these courts. Great place to play but there are only 4 courts. I recommend reserving a court if you're going on a weekend. It's like $8 an hour. Don't pick court 4 because it's right next to the only entrance door.

It does feel like an oven on a hot day due to the acoustic barrier on the whole surrounding fence.

Not sure where the bathrooms are located.

They should also post the reservations on the courts or at the entrance.

Good place to play pickleball. The two of us came on a Thursday afternoon at 4pm with no reservation and got several great games in, intermediate skill level. 4 stars because there are some mild cracks in the courts, and the reservation system is annoying. You should not be able to pay to exclude others from the game at a public court. Late afternoon is a good time to come if you want...
