Being a native Coloradoan, I love autumn the best: beautiful days and cool nights, the Broncos (and football in general), and fresh roasted Hatch green chilies for amazing home-cooked Colorado pork green chili. I have tried many establishments for my bushel to take home, peel, and freeze to enjoy green chili throughout the winter. Most of the roadside vendors display big beautiful bright green and red Pueblo and Hatch chili's, but when I get home to batch them up, I have a good deal of small 2- inch size peppers mixed with a few of those pretty nice big ones on they have on display. The flavor is always there, but the workload is doubled by the number of peppers i have to peel and seed. It's irritating, but I expect it. I made my first visit to The Chili Guys on 55th and Federal and will go nowhere else EVER for green chilies again. Every single one of the peppers were just as large as the ones usually displayed. Plus, i didn't even have to ask for double-bagging, they do it automatically. I've not yet made my first batch of been chili, but I'm confident they'll be delicious. Thank you...
Read moreSpent close to $300 for my order and shipping, I'm out in Vermont, so I don't have any access to these kinds of chili's out here. I placed this order more than two weeks ago and still waiting to receive it.
Born and raised in Denver, moved to Vermont after 44 years, and frequented this place often for roasted peppers, as they're pretty good. Apparently they only ship on Monday and Tuesday, but fail to tell you that anywhere during check out. Nor do they respond to emails, I sent two before calling them and being told someone would call back two days in a row. Finally reached someone there and was given a pretty lame excuse that they didn't know what happened to the order, and never saw an email (Give me a Fn break). But that I would still have to wait until Monday for the order to ship! Paid $116 for shipping, and still don't have my order, THREE WEEKS LATER. it's supposed to be here tomorrow, but I'm guessing that from Monday to Friday on the way here, they'll be thawed.
I would suggest to never order online from these guys, it seems shady, and their communication...
