As a child, growing up in Lancaster County, we would come to Berwick every Christmas to visit family and we never missed the beautiful, slow crawl through twinkling (and non-profit with all volunteer workers) "Christmas Blvd." I was thrilled with the many lights and hand-painted cut-outs, but especially with the animated displays. My favorite of course was Santa handing out the Wise potato chips! Most people go up one side and come back down the other side of the Blvd. From bad weather and, unfortunately, vandalism, there seems to be fewer displays now but it is still so fun. I'm not sure who was in charge of traffic but, it was a joke, dangerous and a pure shame. If it was local fire police, you failed miserably at doing your job.
I know the PD is busy but when there is an influx of traffic the task should be given to some competent individuals instead of the blue lighters.
More help, training and want to do better will only benefit Berwick when people...
