David S. Lynch Memorial Park — Attraction in Beverly

Beautiful park, garden, playground, and beach setting. The rose garden is really lovely with view of the water. Great playground and large grass area with outdoor amphitheater, snack and ice cream outlet. Main complaints were the massive amounts of seaweed piled the entire length of the beach, probably from the recent big storm (wish it could be groomed and removed. very little place to sit and hang out), and the goose poop. They're fun to watch but don't like their poop on the sand, grass, and in the water. Same for the large numbers of dogs brought there, which I understand seems like a great place to play with and exercise your dog, but owners need to be sensitive to the fact that kids sit and play there and people picnic all over that area. So need to go potty away from public areas as much...

When I lived in Beverly I would come down here almost every week. And I still drive from Billerica to visit with my son multiple times a year. We went over memorial day weekend this year. It's great for young kids. Two small beaches. There's a playground and sprinkler park. And there's also a garden. There's an area for volleyball and a lot of grassy areas for kids to run around. Plenty of picnic tables and benches around. It's kept clean. There are actual bathrooms as well. And a family restroom which is fantastic when you're alone with multiple kids. Took my students here for a field trip and we had a blast! The splash park is really great but be warned, the water is cold! My students loved the playground and even went swimming down at the beach! Life guards were on duty at one of the places to swim and were all very nice. The snack shack is what you'd expect at a typical beach place and not overly expensive. There were lots of great places to sit and look at the water. Views were beautiful. My kids loved combing the beach for "treasures". My recommendation: bring water shoes or sturdy sandals. Some parts of the beach are more crushed shells than sand!
