Percy F. Lyons Park — Attraction in Beverly

Who in the world thought enclosing three sides of the park but leaving a huge side open was a good idea? You’d couldn’t just fully enclose it like other parks do?? Cars drive fast on the road near there and there’s literally an ocean feet away. It’s literally the coolest playground and the only one I’ve ever seen a mommy/daddy and me swing at, but my mother in law and I had to constantly run around after my 3 kids (two of whom have autism) who were escaping from the playground....

Beautiful calm beach with a large green space that features a dedicated parking lot, swings for the kids, lots of trash bins and plenty of shade trees. The beach itself is soft light sand with small pebbles and shells near the water - lots of beach glass. It's busy in the summer during the day but in the morning and evening it is a peaceful, uplifting place to walk. Dogs allowed before 7:30 A.M. so if you have puppies they will find...

I love that it’s free parking and my kids can use the park and the beach all at once. I hate that the bathrooms close so early but I’m learning everything up here closes early unless it involves alcohol. The beach is kept pretty clean and low tide is our favorite to visit. My nonverbal daughter has more freedom to explore the waters at low tide since it stays very shallow. The kids love exploring the hermit crabs. They even caught an...
