Hansen Music was my go-to music and audio equipment store for the past 13 years. They even recovered some stolen gear of mine when my car was broken into back in 2015; for that, I am eternally grateful to the gentlemen that went the extra mile (very few of whom still work there.) For a long time, they took care of me for all my music needs and did so with a welcoming smile. So believe me when I say that it pains me to say anything at all about them that is less than flattering.
Hansen Music has lost their way when it comes to customer service.
When my PA speaker broke down, they were more than happy to sell me a replacement- but not so happy when I knew there was something wrong with the speaker. I would never claim to be an audiophile, but it's not hard to hear when a speaker just isn't working as intended. It sounded muddy and hollow. I brought the speaker back and rather than offering a refund, they gaslighted me and told that the speaker sounded fine. It was only after I directly asked for a refund and was turned away that I popped open the speaker and discovered that several pieces were much too loose and weren't in the intended slots. I had to sell it for parts for a fraction of the price I bought it for, only a month after the initial purchase.
That's not all.
My drummer recently purchased a new snare head. He's been playing for years, he's experienced, he knows what he needs and how to get the sound he wants. He also knows how to take care of his gear to ensure longevity, so when his brand new snare head popped after not even a week of play, he knew something was wrong and returned to Hansen Music, only to be turned away, denied a refund or an exchange, and told that he just "hit it in the wrong spot," as if he was brand new to drumming and had no idea how to even remotely play correctly.
Hansen Music is a group of local guys who have supported this community for years, but it seems at least some of them have let their tenure get to their head. They gaslight and blame customers who have any sort of trouble with recent purchase, and act as though none of their products can ever be faulty.
I really do wish them continued success, but I personally can no longer support them or...
Read moreThis place is great. I went in looking for a humidifier for my acoustic and the guy at the desk took me right to the humidifier section. I almost bought this really sweet two-thousand dollar guitar, it was an amazing guitar and played like a dream, my wife told me no, haha. She wanted to buy me this really nice four-hundred dollar guitar for my birthday but I had my eye on the two-thousand dollar hollow body electric guitar, it was really light weight and sounded incredible unplugged, plus it looked so beautiful. If you need your guitar worked on, Hansen music did an awesome job setting up my Floyd rose Jackson. Just about everything you'll need to make music, this is the first place I go to when I need something, they always have what I need and they're happy to show you or tell you...
