Just deleted my Papa John's account after nearly 20 years. I've simply had enough of the poor web site and lack of customer service. I tried to place an order from this store via the website and my laptop and it repeatedly stated I needed to review the billing address for my card. The site also continually changed my motel room number to a random number that did not even match any previous room number from elsewhere in the country. After about 25 minutes of endless cycling through links on the website, I finally called customer service and went through another cycle of "death by prompts" before finally reaching a human... In India... REALLY??? Now I can barely understand her English... That only adds insult to injury. I finally became fed up and asked her to simply delete my account, then she hangs up on me. That is unacceptable, period. I worked in media for approximately 15 years and know better... I also was NOT abusive to the call center employee. But, if one gets such a person off of their script, they simply can't cope and she chose the hang up option. That sealed Papa John's fate as a future source of a meal for me. Never again. Period.
This store MIGHT make good food... But I never got the chance to find out tonight and won't give any store a chance in the future. 45 minutes of wasted time attempting to place an order (I should have simply called it in like we did in the days before internet and I probably would have already eaten by the time the call center call ended).
I simply wanted something different but Papa John's quality has gone down over the years, so it's simply no great loss to me. I signed into the Domino's Pizza website and ordered within a few moments without issue, using the same credit card. Papa John's equals poor quality, cold food, long wait times and poor customer service. Tis...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer to this Papa John's location for a long time for the sake of convenience only. However, my experience today marks the last time I conduct business with their particular establishment.
Over the course of this week I have entertained a few guests and ordered several pizzas over a few nights' time. I am a vegetarian and thus cannot eat meat, so I frequently order pizzas that are half meat, half vegetable toppings. It seems that despite the regularity of which I order pizzas in this style, again and again the toppings are just thrown over the entire pie. Tonight, it took over an hour and ten minutes for my pizza to arrive. I called the restaurant and they apologized and said the deliverer left 10 minutes ago. They did not offer a refund or anything similar. When the pizza finally did arrive, the deliverer ignored me when I opened the door, continuing a phone conversation. I had to stand and wait for about a minute before he hung up, acknowledged me, and handed me the pizza saying little else. Once I brought the pizza downstairs, just like a few nights ago, the toppings were not half and half but rather strewn across the entire pizza. I called again and am currently waiting on another, but who knows how long it's going to take.
Update: After this post was written, I noticed later on my banking site that I was refunded for...
Read moreI would like to share my experience with Papa John's delivery, particularly regarding their service on busy nights. Recently, I ordered from my local Papa John's on a Friday evening at 6 PM, and my order took nearly two hours to arrive. When I called to inquire about the delay, the staff member who answered was polite and confirmed that my pizza was on its way. However, I found the wait time quite frustrating, especially since it was late for my family.
Additionally, I've noticed a trend where Papa John's delivery is now often outsourced to DoorDash. This can lead to further delays, as drivers may be juggling multiple deliveries. Unfortunately, this means that by the time the pizza arrives, it is frequently cold.
I remember when Papa John's used to provide a more reliable delivery experience, particularly in comparison to competitors like Domino’s. It seems that the level of customer service and attentiveness to delivery times has declined. I believe that many customers share a desire for a return to the days when ordering pizza felt like a dependable option for a Friday night meal, along with consistent communication and care from management during challenging periods. My order wasn't even confirmed by door dash until almost an our after placing it on their app.
Guess they just don't care anymore. Just order local and pick it up on the way...
