Park has two parts: the old shady part and the new riverside playground + beach (gigantic sandbox plus river beach access). the new stuff is fantastic with two major caveats and one minor quibble: 1) needs more shade. the breeze was GREAT but the giant sandbox is limited in usability to the shade of two (big) umbrellas. 2) no water fountains? the swinging park benches were cool but a foot-wash station and water bottle refill was missed. and the minor quibble: the impossible-to-climb sides of the big astroturf hill in the amazing playground could use some built-in benches on the side. just something to sit on to help a kid with shoes or escape the morning/afternoon sun. otherwise, wow really neat! sooo tall! if the Gathering Place is busy, come here!! we didn't even have time to walk the activity bridge over the river (lights up in the evening like a date spot minus the dippin dots stand (unless they add sometimes too)!) nor check out the way shady tree-covered other half...

Lovely park connected to a beautiful bridge. You can easily have a picnic here. There are paved trails that are good for strollers and a variety of trees (it is also an arboretum). I have come here many times now and there is always plenty of parking. It is easy to get in a run, walk, or bike ride. Theoretically also the trail connects to other trails and communities so you are never too far from somewhere to get a bite to eat or something to drink. It is difficult to pull in and out of the parking lot safely due to the fact that people like to speed in that stretch that goes by the park, so I advise to be careful in that regard. Great bridge to come for a sunset stroll because the lights are so pretty! Come...

.This new addition to Bixby City is a fantastic space for all ages. With its thoughtfully designed playground, it's a haven for kids, but the appeal goes far beyond that. The walking trails offer a peaceful retreat for those looking to enjoy nature, and the picnic spots are perfect for a relaxing outdoor meal. The views of the Arkansas River are stunning, making it a scenic destination for anyone who visits. For added relaxation, the large recliner swings provide a unique way to unwind while taking in the surroundings. It's truly a spot where everyone can enjoy the beauty and serenity...

They definitely have potential here, and it is very nice for what they have installed. I only wish that it had more of an age range selection, as most of the attractions for this park are for older and bigger kids. Lots of high rope climbing things, but not many things for small kids. Rolling around on the other artificial turf is not much of a fun time for kids under 10.. The view and hammock area by the river is great, I wish the swings were a bit better but it was fun. In fact, I wish there was a swing set area at this park! This is a great start, and I hope to see more additions in the future!
