My husband and I agree the Stuffed Cream Cheese Wontons are THE BEST we've ever had!! They are bite-sized and stuffed with cream cheese. We both enjoyed the Honey Chicken, Bourbon Chicken, Butter Shrimp, Steak and Onion pieces, and Cheesecake (think Jello Brand with delicious New York style cream cheese filling and graham cracker crust, but only for dinner, no cheesecake at lunch), and good news, they don't run out like other Chinese buffets. I was a big fan of the Sesame Chicken, but husband thought it had too much breading (however he said it was like other buffets, and he isn't a big fan of breading). We both liked the Stuffed Crab. I got one piece of the Crab Meat, and you could tell it was the imitation type, so I didn't get more, but imitation is expected when you are only paying $14.98 per person for night-time adult buffet, so I was not terribly disappointed (you have to pay $30 or more per person for real Crab Legs). The service was outstanding! Our glasses never ran dry, and there was a lady with an earpiece calling back to the chef telling him what to fix next so that the silver buffet pans were never empty (I've seen her all 3 visits, they monitor the buffet constantly for perfection). The food was hot, none was cold, but we arrived just after 5:00 p.m. Any Chinese Buffet will probably have dishes which got cold or stale by 7:30 p.m., so for most buffets, go around 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for lunch and 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., but East China Buffet always has hot and fresh food because we've been 3 times since I first posted this review and whether we went at 11:30 a.m., 2:45 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. it was always hot and fresh!! They put out just a little at a time so that it stays great ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT!! Also great price, and award-winning service!! Oct 3, 2023 price $14.98 per person, $32.64 with tax included before adding tip for me and my husband. There are single-serve containers of Blue Bunny soft-serve ice cream (vanilla, strawberry or chocolate), but for dine-in only, not for carry-out customers per sign on wall. Would definitely recommend East China Buffet!! I have already told several friends!! Best Chinese Buffet Around!!! Be warned if coming from Broken Arrow side of 131st and Garnett, the Bridge is out between Garnett and Mingo on 131st (Haikey Creek) so we had to go back up to 121st to go West to Mingo and then South again on Mingo to get back to 131st then over to Memorial. East China Buffet is on Memorial at 132nd (right side of road by Kum-n-Go Gasoline station, has big parking lot but does not wrap around building . . . Go back out the same place...
Read moreThis is the only buffet that I have been to where I actually want to finish the food. The beef usually, there are two dishes in the buffet and it’s usually beef and broccoli. The beef is soft and taste good. They also have multiple chicken dishes. And the chicken like sesame chicken and general Toa’s chicken has a nice crunch to it. And taste good also. They have a small but good salad selection. The salad is always crispy and fresh. The crab rangoons are nice tasting. The selection is fairly decent. I drive from Owaso to Bixby to have food from this buffet. Again by all standards, it is a level above every buffet in Tulsa that I have tried. I wish the other buffets were better so I could, try them and not drive as far. But the beautiful thing about this buffet is, the food is consistently good. I have been to several buffets where one day the food is cold and stale and another day. It may be warmer and has better flavoring. Not here the standards are always maintained. I can honestly say if you are a buffet Lover, this is the buffet for you in TULSA. I believe there is a new one that has just started, which is doing well with its star rating, but I haven’t been there and as usual most of them decline after...
Read moreThe first time I came here was 21 years ago! And for the next 5 years I was a frequent customer. But then I moved to another part of town and never came back until now. I happened to be driving by and was looking for a Chinese restaurant, and then I remembered! EAST CHINA!!! Time has not moved on inside this restaurant the sorta high end decor still here; with its dragon gates and their water fountain! Right after ordering my water, I went to the bathroom and yes, still very cleaned as well as it used to be the last time I was here 15 years ago ir so. At the time I came, it was past the lunch time which to my surprise I found the food to be a bit dry and it seemed like it had been there for a while. They still have my favorite popcorn shrimp! I loaded up my plate! The lomein was a bit soggy but it was good enough. I am glad I got to atop by after such a long time and I hope I get to come back sooner than 15 years from now.
Here are some observations.
The two ladies who are serving drinks and clean tables and do the cashier, they tend to get argumentative and a bit loud trough out the...
