Veterans Park — Attraction in Black Mountain

This was a great softball park with a children's playground Pre-Hurricane Helene. And while locals and Major League baseball have put a lot of work into the park. Our city officials have failed us on the final touches of rebuilding. A year later there is still no functioning restrooms and we are using Porta John's. Softball and baseball. Being one of the few positive things for children to do around here would make one think that our city officials would care enough to allocate some funds to finish making this a usable park...

Good park...but locals will call the cops on you if you sit in the parking lot for too long in your vehicle. So yeah they are not to keen on people hanging out there if they think your suspicious even if you need to walk your dog before going to work. And we literally don't talk to anybody or bother anybody. At this point the callers need to get ticketed for wasting...

Great place to run or walk it you want flat or mixed terrain with a few hills. Sections of full sun and cool share are always available. The community garden on the other side of the I40 underpass is terrific and usually busy with gardeners. Disc golf course, and trails along the Swannanoa River.
