Food = 3.0, Service = 4, Ambiance = 2.8 This review is NOT intended to destroy this business. This restaurant serves it's purpose with low prices and a 1970's food menu. Even the walls and ceilings had the cheap 1970's wood paneling. Yes...the ceiling too. I have to admit that the restaurant was cleaner than what you would expect with this type of decor. To be honest, it was like a time warp going back to when I was a teenager going to dinner with my parents. I had a 12oz Ribeye dinner. The Ribeye was definitely frozen and then recently thawed. There was no taste at all...it was simply on the plate. Now, I understood why the waiter brought A1 and Heinz 57 sauce before the steak came out. Yes, I tried both to add flavor to the steak. It didn't help much! The baked potato was cooked perfect but was a little small. It was definitely the highlight on my plate. The dinner came with Cole Slaw and "marble sized" hush puppies. The Cole Slaw was served in a small plastic cup sitting on the plate. The taste was "ok" but was a little watery. The hushpuppies were perfectly round like a marble, so I am sure they weren't homemade. They were cooked perfectly but the taste was what you expect for hushpuppies. My wife's plate had two Flounder filets with a large pile of frozen and breaded "baby" (cocktail shrimp) and frozen crinkle cut fries. She said the fish was good but only ate a few shrimp. Again...nothing to write about. To end...if you are an older senior citizen and want to remember the typical 1970's inexpensive no frills restaurant then this is your place.

I had hoped of fresh seafood when I entered this older, established cafe/restaurant. Service was fast and friendly and atmosphere welcoming and warm, albeit a bit worn down. Hubby ordered the catfish special, which was fine- nothing special. I ordered a Greek salad with boiled shrimp. When I see boiled shrimp as an option, I guess our time in NOLA has trained my brain to expect boiled fresh shrimp. Needless to say, that is not what I got. I got chopped iceberg, a small amount of slices cucumber, a couple of black olives, generous feta (which may or may not have been fresh) and what felt like an entire bag of previously frozen mini shrimp that covered the entire salad. Oh, plus a side of Italian dressing. Yuck, yuck, yuck!! We wondered why no one ever mentioned going here. The place was filled with utility workers in their reflective vests, who I’m sure knew to order the catfish and most likely are not salad connoisseurs- just saying. Like I said earlier, the atmosphere sets the tone for some good home cooking - they should not offer the Greek salad as an option, in my opinion / especially at the price of $15 🤪 One and done - we won’t be back.

The food I have no complaint over. But the customer service is subpar. Every time we come here, we're overcharged, don't receive what we paid for, and have to deal with attitude from the girls, like it's such an inconvenience for them to do their job. I work in the service industry, and I'll be damned if I ever spoke to my customers the way they do. I'll be damned if I ever charge someone $20 for two pints of slaw. And I'll be damned if I ever charge someone $2 for cocktail sauce and barley cover the bottom of the sauce cups. Do better.

First time here . A veteran & friend who drove me an hour and 30 minutes home & back from a procedure at the Asheville VA that required anasthesia. My first food in 24 hours. We ordered a Baby shrimp cocktail & a fried 2 item combo flounder & oysters. We both agreed the food was very good & the hostess & servers were friendly & helpful. My only issue was upon checking out with the young cashier I was given a veterans discount on the meals ( $ 13.95 + $ 8.95 - the veteran discount + tax ). I knew the total was going to be around $ 23 something. I was told quickly the cash register rang up just over $ 32. I questioned it instantly & the cashier quickly recalculated the cash register total & it corrected itself to the total I already figured in 2 seconds in my head before walking to the checkout to pay. I suppose that cash register must be infected with some type of dyslexia/dyscalculia virus. I would definitely dine here again, but keep an eye on that weird cash...
