Kiwanis Thrift Shop — Local services in Black Mountain

Thrift stores are wonderful for several reasons, my favorite being that they assist with repurpose and keeping things out of landfills. Just because we tire of an item doesn't mean that there is no value left and that someone else can't use it. This thrift store is well organized, clean, friendly, and constantly restocking and their prices are reasonable. I check by when I am in the area because you never know what treasures await. I'd give this a higher rating but they have a huge thing working against them- they don't accept credit/debit cards. I can accept credit card payments on a cell phone, they should be able to pretty easily too. Their selection is ok, their toys never work right but they have ok clothes sometimes and every now and then some nice dishes or kitchen stuff. Their prices are better than goodwill though and sometimes you get a good find that makes it worth checking out if you like to frequent...

Horrible customer service. I showed up at 4:40 which was 20 minutes before they close and a very rude man at the counter stated “we close in five minutes.” I apologized and said I didn’t realize it was almost 5 o’clock.
