Read moreThe service at Publick Playhouse was completely disorganized and abrupt and frazzled. There were so many theater workers who were not on the same page and just did not know how to coordinate a show properly.
For any show where you have dancers for a performance it is haphazard and hectic to have them move a ton of times. Block off a section and have the dancers sit in their assigned sections and don’t have them move. Additionally, for any show with dancers there should be tech times provided. They need to know what it feels like to be on that particular stage. Lastly, please have the staff be mindful of the people that are in attendance. As guests it is imperative to have a positive experience with a staff that at least knows your team’s names...

Read more1st time here. Not bad, older theatre with character. I would be interested in seeing other performances there. I was a chaperone for a matinee performance of Syncopated Ladies. The performance itself was really great. It was engaging and age appropriate for middle and high school students. I really appreciate the visuals, the historical background of themselves as well as sharing historical footage of famous Black female tap dancers.
