1st I will say that because of the state of the economy I can only afford to get a pedicure a few times a year and I have to get them done due to ingrown nails. I came on a Sat morning 10 am. Walk in and got in right away. I picked out a color and sat down. I was asked how the temp of the water was? I told her she could make it warmer. She then put her hand in the water to feel for herself so I can only image she could feel the water was barely room temp. She did not add any hot water. So as the time passed the water increasingly got colder to the point my feet were now cold to the touch.

I also had polish on my fingernails that I had done myself and requested a cotton ball with remover so I could take it off while I waited?

The gal didn't seem to understand so she got another gal to come over and I explained to her what I needed. She told me they were worried I might get acetone on my clothes so they would wait until my toes were drying and they could give me a rag to do it.

Once my toes were done, the gal attempted to remove my fingernail polish herself and I again said no I could do it myself.

I'm not paying to have old polish I put on myself, removed. And I sure felt like they were trying to force me into this.

Because I wouldn't allow her to remove the polish, when I got to my other hand I requested a new piece of cotton and she just took everything away.

You could visually see I had 1 hand with all the polish off and 1 with half the polish removed.

At this point I had cold feet and was just miffed. I paid for my services but didn't feel a tip was earned. Had I simply been given a cotton ball with remover to remove my own old nail polish, and the temp of my pedicure water been increased so it was warmer I would have gladly given a generous tip and a 4 star raiting. Horrible experience at this nail shop. The guy Doing my nails glued my tips on way too wide and Directly onto my skin. I asked for the manager to take over and she had another gentleman attempt to fix my nails. well, he Wasn’t able to fix my nails either instead he focus his energy on arguing with me. He sat and argued with me the entire time about my nails the shape of my nails & the fact that they were glued to my skin and tried to convince me that that’s normal. So after an hour and 15 minutes of sitting in the nail shop I got up and left and the second guy doing my nails literally chased me out the door and accused me of wanting free nails and took a picture of my license plate. I went back in and gave them my business card and told them I was not hiding and to call me if they wanted to resolve this and I did not want free nails my nails are not done and they’re not presentable and I don’t have time today to get them redone . I don't get my nails done frequently, but I'm trying to grow them out for an event and decided to do gel nails for a few weeks (mine are prone to breakage). I first went to a nail shop in Shoreview, but it was not well done so I kept looking and found Be Mine Nails & Spa. My first experience was very good. The young woman who did my nails was meticulous and careful and they looked GREAT. I got many complements on them for the next couple weeks, so went in a second time to get a touchup. I had a different technician this time, and while she was just as careful and the nails look great, I got a pretty bad infection a couple of days after the manicure. Not sure if it is the fact that they trim cuticles (which opens the path to infection) or that the tools she used weren't cleaned properly.
