I dislike when stores use the "switch and bait" tactics. Over Marshalls loudspeakers they announce take 10% off your purchase today - apply for a Store card. Sounds reasonable. You buy that extra item knowing it will be discounted with the new store card. You wait on that always long line (it's long because there is either not enough cashiers or the cashiers are busy having conversations with each other) to finally get to the cashier who repeats the same, 10% off your purchase today - just fill out your address, answer how much you make and the dreaded question - "what is your SS#". Then she tells you if you're approved they'll send you a coupon in the mail in a few weeks!!! So you don't get the 10% off today. You need to buy more on another day. The other issue is there is no return line or self service or express line. Everyone has to wait on the overly long and time consuming line. There is a lack of quality merchandise, racks are a mess, no help on the floor, missed priced or over priced merchandise. This Marshall is the worst compared to the ones in a 15 mile radius. This is the closet store to me and Stop and Shop is next door - so it makes it convenient but not...
Read moreI’ve been going to this Marshall’s for more than 7 years but in the last few years the employees there have made this location very uncomfortable to me. It seems that they love to follow me around the store every time I am there. I always spend a few hundred dollars there, mainly because I like the selection in clothing and bed sheets. I always come here because it’s close to my home. However I might have to chose a new location to frequent. I find it odd that the same person folding cloths in the area that I am looking for an item is the same person that is available when i make it to the top of the check out line. I do not recommend this location to anyone I know and I will make sure that me and my wife stop coming here. It’s a shame since I live in Bloomfield and it’s so close to home but I like to feel comfortable when I am spending money. Whoever is the head of the lost & provention department should look for a new job because they are Wasting valuable time and energy/resources following me around the store when I am a...
Read morei am a frequent shopper at this particular Marshall(every week). I went into the store browsing and i notice there was a blue velvet accent chair, after debating about purchasing. i came back to the store in less than 30 minutes asked the manager about the chair and was told the chair was on hold. I went into the store today and the chair is still waiting to be purchased. After the cashier talked to rosa about the chair she said did someone called about the chair. The cashier said no this lady wants to purchase it. I was told by rosa that after 9:30 the chair is up for grabs. I explained to rosa this is my second coming in for this chair and i get off work at 3:30pm the...
