While beautiful and full of history, I am deeply disappointed with Evergreen Cemetery’s policy of throwing away grave decorations and memorials only a week after they were placed on the grave. While I understand real flowers need to be discarded, I fail to understand why fake flowers and other items are tossed after one week. And then to require people to purchase a $300 vase from the cemetery in order to avoid their items being discarded? That is wrong. Many people who visit weekly simply cannot afford to bring new decorations every week. Pathways are clear to ride your bike and walk your dogs. Friends, please do your part and keep Evergreen clean!
