If you are looking for a wedding venue that has charm, character and elegance you should stop now and call the Vrooman Mansion. We held my daughter’s wedding there over Memorial Day weekend and it was phenomenal.
The Grounds: The landscaping is lush and well-manicured. We had an outdoor wedding for about 90 people so the ceremony was on the grass. The grounds are large enough that we could also erect a 40x40 foot tent. Even after that there was room enough so guests could just wander. There is an outdoor fireplace and a small garden as well. All beautifully done and picture perfect.
The Mansion: Historic with great character. Our family stayed in the mansion for the weekend which was great so we could all be together. There are five rooms in the mansion and they are all very nice. It is an old house so it creaks and there are not plugs every few feet etc. but again if charm and character are important to you then you can’t go wrong. Picture claw foot tubs and gorgeous poster beds. Their maximum capacity for a wedding is about 100 and there is room in the main house to hold the ceremony indoors – it would be lovely as the bride could enter by descending down an absolutely stunning staircase.
The Carriage House: This is a separate building on the grounds with a downstairs sitting room and half bath as well as a small kitchen (fridge, sink, and microwave – no stove). Beautifully appointed and cozy. The Carriage House suites are the equivalent of a Five Star hotel – gorgeous (and I mean gorgeous) bathrooms in each suite and lovely antiques throughout.
The Staff: The owners Pam and Dana are amazing and the inn keeper Trish is fantastic. Every staff member we encountered was wonderful – they truly cared about you having a great experience. Trish also acted as a wedding coordinator on the wedding day and things ran beautifully. Breakfast is included with your stay and the food is incredible.
Conclusion: Five Stars – location, charm and character, incredible staff, beautiful grounds. A charming and wonderful place for an...
Read moreIt was nice, pretty and clean inside and out. Kinda pricey but quiet. They were good with staying in contact with people staying for arrvial time.
We stayed in the carriage house. It was nice but the water heater broke and had no hot water. Which we understood, things break. I feel like instead of telling us before our arrival the water they tried to play it off like it would be fixed.
They offered for us to shower in the main house or switch rooms. (Or stay in our originally booked room for a 50% refund which I got) I personally did not want to do either. The main house was too far to carry all my stuff back and forth. I was kind of a bummed because i wanted to take a bath in the big tub. I am glad i didnt pay extra for the bubble bath. We just stayed in our original booked room.
The ac really didnt work downstairs and it got really cold in our room upstairs. The charlevoix room was nice but the bed is really soft and creaks incase you need a firmer mattress or are a light sleeper. There are ports in the light switch next to the bed to plug in phone charger.
There are alot signs in the room and one about permanent staining fee that was kinda gross and weird. Just a warning, the card you use to book the room will be charged asap and there is no refund if you cancel. The website states Due to uncertain circumstances, stays may be cancelled up to 24 hours before reservation in exchange for a full credit towards a future stay. Honestly if i knew about the hot water i woulda cancelled.
The breakfast was really good and they did offer alot of snacks and drinks in the...

Our stay at the Vrooman Mansion was fantastic, beyond our expectations. The owners and staff were very friendly, gracious, and accommodating! They went out of their way, taking a personal interest in making our experience most comfortable and inviting—from efficiently and proactively booking us, to welcoming and assisting us at check-in, to the uniquely tailored meals at breakfast, providing us with sparkling clean and elegantly comfortable rooms, and even helping with our unconventional needs. The unique history, old world character, amenities, and quiet ambiance of the Vrooman Mansion, made our stay very interesting, enlightening, and relaxing. The bed was comfortable and rejuvenating. Breakfast was exquisite and it introduced us to some new flavor twists! We felt like we were at home, away from home; and by checkout time, we felt as if we had new friends at the Vrooman. Thank you Pam and Dana!
