Mhiripiri Gallery — Attraction in Bloomington

It’s pretty fantastic to have a gallery like this in Bloomington, especially in the humble area of Penn and 90th. I’ve driven past it a million times but only went inside for the first time today. Wow - what a treat. There’s so much art and pottery inside, and in such a pleasant building. If you like art and pottery, you can’t not like it. I figured if I wasn’t familiar with African art or didn’t have a home esthetic that matched it, it wouldn’t be for me. But I was surprised how many things I loved and wanted to take home with me. Great place to find beautiful original paintings and plenty of sculptures too ! I bought two large, original, acrylic paintings for $2,700 from Rex, the owner and artist today. Great guy. Wonderful conversation with him for over an hour today.
