Returned again this year with family visiting for a family funeral. The zoo begins with flags waving you in- beautiful photo room to take your memories of the farm, to a store filled with every decoration you didn’t know existed- and of course the huge mums I’ve ever seen grown and literally last throughout the winter if you cover and bring in to enjoy until the spring location opens. As for the zoo- it’s family friendly. Nothing scary, but goats on a sun balcony, donkeys hee-hawing for corn from kiddos and baby chicks to pick up and snuggle. The Pig Out offers a nice lunch. The train is able to be enjoyed by children and adults through a tunnel. Play inside the pen with the goats and in October kids can ride the ponies all day long. Hayride shows you a family ride with land that still exists in a suburb. So many animals to see that have their babies throughout the season of mid September to Halloween. For all is a 2-story and 1-story slide, obstacle course for little ones. Walk the maze and never fear as children marvel at finding their own way out. The kids jump and play and when leaving grab a homemade pie or apple cider donuts and hot cider and jelly and jams. I’ve brought my daughter since 5 months, and yesterday returned for her 28th straight year and loves it more each time. When a “family Johansen” work together, you will see the care of cleanliness and safety for all. If you want a carnival- then no. If you want a farm with hay, feeding, holding, touching animals and giggles- YES! Don’t forget to scan your phones for $1 off. Just my opinion- but I’ve been around a long time and this is simple...
Read moreI absolutely love Johansen’s Farm in Bolingbrook! Their pumpkin patch is hands-down one of the best around — tons of perfectly sized pumpkins, beautiful displays, and that cozy fall atmosphere that makes you want to stay all day. 🎃 The staff is super friendly and everything is so well organized, from the hayrides to the petting zoo.
And I have to give a special shoutout to their spooky season gnome collection — it’s AMAZING! 🧙♂️🕸️ Every year they somehow top themselves with even more creative and fun designs. I can never leave without adding a new one (or three) to my collection.
If you’re looking for the perfect fall outing for families, friends, or even a solo pumpkin-hunting adventure, Johansen’s Farm is...
Read moreTHIS PLACE WAS HORRIBLE. FIRST OFF, THERE WAS NO ORGANIZATION, NO MAPS, GO THIS WAY FOR THIS OR ANYTHING. MISSED OUT ON THE HAYRIDE BECAUSE I COULD NOT FIND IT. SECOND, THERE FOOD AREA IS REASONABLE, BUT NO TRAYS FOR THE KIDS OR LIDS FOR ANYTHING. TRYING TO RANGLE CHILDREN WHILE HOLDING ALL THAT FOOD, PLUS BACKPACKS WAS NOT FUN, WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY THIRD ISSUE, THE BATHROOMS. THEY HAVE PORTA POTTYS AND THEY WERE DISGUSTING. I HAD TO HAVE MY DAUGHTER STAND UP ON THE POTTY AND PEE AND SHE PISSED ALL OVER MY NACHOS. IT WAS GROSS AND MADE ME GO HAVE TO BUY MORE FOOD. I WOULD NEVER GO HERE AGAIN AND WITH ALL THE PLACES YOU CAN GO, THEY REALLY NEED...
