If you value the safety of your dogs, do not board them here.
I was so unimpressed with Dog Dayze, in particular their communication with us throughout our dogs’ abbreviated stay with them. We decided to try them out after an ownership change at our usual place, where we had boarded our dogs well over a dozen times with no issues. The morning after the first night, we got a text message- not even a call- that they had gotten into a fight with each other, possibly over breakfast, and that they would be separating our dogs. I had grave concerns about this, since I have watched my boy dog break out of crates to be with his sister when they have been separated. Considering we’d never had issues before with this, we responded and asked them to call us. That took about a half hour. They could not clarify exactly how this happened. As someone who used to work in a kennel, it is very hard to not be aware of what happens during feedings. Considering my dogs eat their food in the roughly 10 seconds immediately after being served, this did not check out. We were told one of our dogs had scratches and the other had a chipped tooth, and that they would send pictures. After 4 hours, we had not received any pictures and had come up with a backup plan- the dogs were picked up by someone else and taken to our old location. At pick up, they noted that my boy dog scratched himself. When called on that not being the case, they said “Oh that must have been another dog.” Just how many dogs got injured here in one day?!
Of course, because it was a holiday weekend, we were not eligible for any sort of refund according to them, even though we felt we had to remove our dogs for their safety. This feels like a questionable policy at best that likely would not hold up in a court. Consequently, we will not be returning...
Read moreBoarded my four year old miniature Australian Shepherd female for nine days in Fall 2018. Both when I left my dog there and when I came to pick her up, one of the owners was spending time with her. They were always very pleasant to talk with and greeted me cordially. The owners said that they had really enjoyed having her there and were sorry to see her leave. One owner promptly brought my dog's food and other belongings and went back to care for the other boarded dogs while the other owner told me how the visit had gone. No problems, my dog was well fed, very clean, and happy and showed no unusual behavior, although she had clearly missed me and they said that she ate a little bit less food than I had provided. She is a very sociable dog and since I am retired, I normally spend a lot of time with her every day, so that made perfect sense. The cost was competitive with other dog boarders. The owners were very nice and clearly really care about the dogs they board. They're certainly in the right business. I will be very happy to board my little dog back at Dog Dayze the next time that I need to board her because I know that she'll be...
Read moreI have been sending my dog here off and on for a few months and overall I think she’s enjoyed it.
I have some concerns with transparency at this facility. Obviously barking is normal at a doggy day care, but it sounds like dogs are being confined. I asked about the crating times and they told me from 11 am- 12:15 pm. However, when I picked my dog up at 3:30, it was very obvious that many dogs were crated. You could hear the bustling inside metal crates.
I just think it’s dishonest not to be upfront with customers about schedules or crating dogs when most people send their dogs to doggy day care to avoid being confined or crated.
Lastly, the smell of the facility is horrible. My pup needs a bath every time she comes home smelling of urine.
The employees are kind and I’ve never had an issue with professionalism, but I will certainly be taking my dog to a facility that is honest with their...
