Nice little historical museum of the local area. The exhibits are of mostly donated items. The curator(s) did a good job of arranging things into cohesive areas. Every day items, clothes and amateur natural science collections. Part of the story is historical efforts to bring the railroad and its economic benefits to the area. We were there specifically to measure the MKT caboose for a potential railroad model, so we spent several hours. The MKT caboose /exhibit is well done. Chairs, desk, "ice box", stove, sink and other details give a concrete feel of how it was used in its heyday. For most visitors, I would guess an hour or so will be sufficient. Read moreThis was an excellent experience! There is A LOT of local history to look at, you could spend hours here despite being a relatively small space. We had 4 children ages 6-12, and they loved it as well. We figured would lose interest quickly but they found many things they found interesting. Highlights for them were the fire truck, Jones Field exhibit and caboose.

This place is so much bigger on the inside than the outside. It's full of incredible history; I could spend days going through here. There's an airplane inside here!
Fannin County has seen plenty of activity over the years, and it's represented here.
Katy, the friendly curator, clearly loves her work, and it's easy to see why.
