Our family has been to Shafer Park more times than I can count over the last 20 years. They replaced the playground equipment several years ago. They even have a handicapped swing. There are several covered pavilions. We've used them for our church picnics, just for us moms to sit in the shade while our young children played and for community festivals. There is a small brook that goes through it. There are hiking trails and areas where hew trees are planted every year by students in Boonsboro Middle School with the help of the park rangers. If you walk along a trail or park by the town library, there is a pond where they have a dad and child fishing derby annually. We have Greenfest in May and Boonsboro Days 1 weekend in September. These festivals bring all the local communities out to the park. There are many vendors, there are educational opportunities and food, food, food. The annual Carnival held by the fire department for fundraising is the last week in May. It is a fabulous community Gem! I'm sure that I have...

This charming small park boasts a beautiful stream running through it, creating a serene and relaxing environment perfect for families. Despite being situated in a small town, the park is remarkably clean, and I observed families walking their dogs and enjoying the natural surroundings. Personally, I found the time spent by the water particularly enjoyable, as it added to the park's peaceful atmosphere. The park offers ample space for picnics on the lawn or at the provided picnic tables. Schaefer Park is an excellent place to unwind and connect with nature, and its peaceful ambiance provides the perfect setting for some alone time or...

A huge pavilion in the south end with plenty of trees for shade. Two parking lots too boot. This is also the place where the Boonsboro carnival takes place. I seen house's near the Park (only two sides of the park) and thought that they are in a wonderful spot to enjoy most of the activity's that...
