The Chestnut Hill Reservoir in Newton is an absolute gem for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful and rejuvenating walk surrounded by nature's beauty. I recently had the pleasure of exploring this tranquil oasis, and I can confidently say that it deserves a glowing five-star review.

One of the standout features of the Chestnut Hill Reservoir is the walking trail that encircles the water. The path is well-maintained, making it an excellent option for walkers, joggers, and even families with strollers. As you stroll along the trail, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the reservoir and the lush greenery that lines its shores. The trail is just the right length, providing a satisfying walk without being too strenuous, making it ideal for people of all ages and fitness levels.

The reservoir itself is a sight to behold. The water is remarkably clean and clear, reflecting the surrounding trees and sky, creating a picturesque scene that's perfect for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike. The calm and serene waters create a sense of tranquility that helps you forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Beyond the beauty of the reservoir, the atmosphere at Chestnut Hill Reservoir is simply delightful. The area is well-maintained and clean, showcasing a commitment to preserving the natural environment and providing visitors with a pleasant experience. The peaceful ambiance, combined with the refreshing breeze coming off the water, makes it an ideal spot to relax, unwind, and connect with nature.

Whether you're seeking a quiet escape to clear your mind or a peaceful place to take a leisurely stroll, Chestnut Hill Reservoir won't disappoint. It's a hidden gem in Newton that offers an opportunity to connect with nature and recharge your spirit. The clean water, well-maintained walking trail, and overall inviting atmosphere create an experience that's worth revisiting time and time again.

If you're in Newton or the surrounding area, I highly recommend paying a visit to the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, fitness lover, or simply in need of a serene retreat, this delightful location has something special to offer. Prepare to be captivated by the beauty of the water, charmed by the peaceful ambiance, and grateful for the chance to immerse yourself in the...

This is a really nice place for a walk, run or just to sit and enjoy a nice view. The sunsets here are really nice regardless of the time of year and it’s open year round. They keep it pretty clean even when it’s snowed.

I’ve been coming here since last year and am recently disabled. There’s a nice little roundabout of parking and parking on the street next to it as well which is free. There’s a good amount of steps. Maybe somewhere between 20-30 and there are atleast two paved walking trail leading up to the tightly packed gravel path that loops around the reservation. The shortest path is pretty steep but doable if you have mobility aids (I walk with two canes). If you have a wheelchair you can get in but the less steep path is longer. Once you get into the loop, it’s all nice and flat. There are also atleast 3-4 benches to the right of the entrance along the trail and a couple right next to the entrance so you can walk and then rest a bit before continuing in...

I simply love this place for its beauty and peaceful nature. The reservoir is part of a system that supplies Boston with fresh water, so of course, no swimming or boating is allowed. However, the walkpath is built around the perimeter of the reservoir itself, and it's wide enough to accommodate foot traffic in both directions. The path is certainly not for biking, therefore, it's safe for elderly, parents with small kids or baby carriages, and handicapped. There are a few benches along the way placed all around the reservoir. CAUTION: even though vegetation is lush and diverse during the summer months, beware of poison ivy that springs here and there. Be careful touching the plans if you do not know what poison ivy looks like, otherwise, you could be in the world of hurt by the end of the walk. And do not let your dogs loose in those bushes as well for the...

The Chestnut Hill Reservation and Chestnut Hill Reservoir is a treasure in Brighton and one of the defining features of the Cleveland Circle/Boston College areas. This park features some of the best views of sunsets in all of Boston. The path around the reservoir is ideal for running, well maintained, and is exactly 1.5 miles. Many people walk their dogs here. Parking is available on Beacon Street, and a small parking lot near the swimming pool and rink can be used by visitors.
