Gyro City — Restaurant in Boston

This is my go-to place in the neighborhood for takeout. You can't go wrong with your order.

My favorite here is the chicken gyro, but hey, almost everybody probably eats that. What I really love is their chicken avogolemono soup. If you're in the mood for comfort, this is it. And the toasty pita it is served with will warm you right up. And their desserts are yummy too - the baklava and another which is a flaky pastry with a cheese filling. They also have a variety of prepared foods, packed and ready to go. I've tried their melitzanosalata (eggplant dip), hummus and rice pudding - everything is so tasty.

But this review is more than just about the food. The people who work here are the absolute best. They are not only friendly but so kind and generous. If you or anyone in your party has restrictions about the kind of food you can eat, you know it can be somewhat difficult eating outside. Somebody in our party couldn't eat spice i.e no chilli, in any form. The person at the counter personally checked with the chef about every single dish we ordered and also offered to make something specially to accommodate our request. I was overwhelmed by their empathy.

Very bad experience at this place. Manager was very rude. I asked for two gyro open plates with everything on it, for one of the gyros I asked the meat to be put on the side. The reason why I asked that is because my wife is vegetarian. Manager told me I had to pay 0.75$ extra for that as a service fee. I didn’t agree and he got angry and started yelling. He said I am not allowed to come back there anymore (not sure if this is legal) , which after today I wasn't to go back anyways after all that screaming and yelling from the manager. I am very disappointed on their practices of doing business and screwing the clients. If I would have to order the open plate without meat at all, the charge would have still been full price but when I asked to put the meat aside I had to pay extra 0.75$ service fee. Note to the manager: Fix your behavior, being short staffed doesn't mean you have to yell at your clients and yet I am not paying that 0.75$ service fee. I called my credit card already. Note to clients: be aware of their fees and their expensive prices and food is just super oily. If you running low on cholesterol go eat there you will...

If you're Looking for your Gyros Fix Look No Further. They have Amazing 😋OG(Original Greek)Pork Gyros 😋 just like you get in Greece. The Tzatziki Dip and Zucchini Fritters were Delicious 😋. I Highly Recommend if you're in The Area Stop in and Get your OG Pork Gyros😋.

We revisited Gyros City with The Family and It was Amazing 😋. We Started off with The Grilled Octopus which was Delicious 😋, Zucchini Fritters so Yummy 😋, a Trio of Dips ( Tzatziki Dip, 😋Melitzano Salata Dip, Taramo Salata Dip) and 😋Keftedes . We also ordered Horiatiki Salads so Good 😋. For Sandwiches we got 😋The OG Pork Gyros Pitas🤤 and 😋Chicken Gyros Pitas they were Delicious. The side of Pork and Chicken Souvlakia were Excellent 😋. The Lamb Souvlakia Dinner 😋 and Chicken Souvlakia Dinner 😋 were Fantastic. I want to Thank The Culinary Team at Gyro City they went Above and Beyond to make our Experience a Memorable One.
