MAPS Modeling Studio — Attraction in Boston

Map studio was amazing and so professional! I have a young daughter who is interested in/ just getting started in modeling. I was contacted by US models- Victoria- and they schedule a photo shoot / test to see if my daughter would be a good fit. She is only 3.5 years old. Victoria was amazing, prepared me , and answered all my questions. I do want to also note that they explained they were not an agency but help build a portfolio for me / or with their help to get an agency.

We arrived early and Kristina Yebba was my daughter’s Hair/ makeup and helped me style her. She MADE this experience so special and amazing for my daughter and I. She was kind, patient w a 3 year old, and provided comfort to both myself and my daughter. My daughter loved her and still talks about her friend Kristina. She did my daughter’s hair and makeup 4 different ways / looks.

George was our photographer and he was very professional. He was clear and concise with his directions and my daughter was comfortable with him. His photographs were gorgeous and he caught some amazing shots on a squirmy young child.

Jody showed us 47 pictures - which had been touched up and screened through. She was professional and provided amazing advice and information to me. She was not pushy at all which I was kind of expected. You can tell she loves what she does and followed up with us the next day.

I walked away from this photo shoot with 1 image that was sent to me while in the office, an amazing experience and a wealth of knowledge. My daughter is starting out and my husband and I are waiting a couple months but I would absolutely work with US models / Map Studios again. Truly the experience was amazing! Stepping into this experience had me very skeptical based on past experiences in my younger years. The Senior Talent Consultant, Justin, was prompt in connecting with me and offering me an opportunity I could not pass up. I was grateful that he answered all my questions and directed me so I could do all my own research before booking an appointment to have hours of access to a professional team who would ultimately guide me into quickly and efficiently creating a modeling portfolio. I like that it wasn’t crowded and I didn’t spend much time waiting for my needs to be met. Kristina helped me by doing my hair and makeup and she helped me feel comfortable with the choices we made, together. Carlos offered clear guidance and direction on making wardrobe choices- he was flexible with the outfits I had to bring, and confirmed that there was no need to buy anything new for the photoshoot. I even came a bit more wrinkled than I wanted and he was willing to make the adjustments to change location to accommodate my own unpreparedness. Andrea, the photo viewer sat down with me and gave me clear direction about how she was able to help me successfully nail down a plan that I could commit to that would help me to start modeling professionally as soon as possible! Okay, to start off everything this place does is (for the most part) legitimate. I went to maps for a photo shoot and I will say I had a really fun time with the shoot. Photos came out nice and everything. However, when it was my time to go into the office to discuss how the photo shoot went.. it was instant pressure on them wanting me to purchase their package. I do not make enough money as it is. I am 18 still in high school and I really do have a hard time financially along with my mom who was there with me. The girl reassured me that I would be able to afford it. I eventually caved in to getting the $3000 package. As soon as I left the studio I felt really defeated that I just couldn’t say no. I should’ve known better. The “package” was just my photos and “tutorial” videos of how to be a successful model which are very vague. I do feel that I did get scammed when it came to the “package” I purchased. I did not get very far and I feel as if I have wasted my money. I am still stuck paying for it and I really wish I could get out of the payment. I am sharing this experience to warn others. If they are throwing numbers at you that you know you can’t afford but try to tell you otherwise.. trust your gut. I should’ve walked out. This is a learning experience and I hope that others will use my experience and think twice...
