Itâs a very strange dining experience. The restaurant is located in the middle of an industrial area. All windows and doors of the restaurant are covered, so you canât see anything inside, make you feel a bit shady before walking in, but once youâre in, the music, the open kitchen looks very welcoming.
We thought for this restaurant to survive in this location foodâs gotta be amazing, but itâs not the case. They looked very promising tho when first served. Their cevicheâs hugely disappointing, the fish isnât fresh, it has a taste of a fish thatâs lived in a water tank for too long and that water tankâs not been cleaned for months. No sauce can cover that taste, plus its meat is very stringy.
Then their steak & rice plate, it tasted like that dish has been made at least 3 days ago, reheated many times, each time, add more salt and sauce to cover up the stale taste. Resulting in overly salted, tough and stale plate. Never had a stir fried stake so poorly executed.
Service is basically nonexistent, the only server has AirPods in his ears, always just looking at his phone behind the cashier counter. We had to go to him each time we needed menu, water, plates, have our check, to go box. Even when we stood right in front of him, saying âexcuse meâ, he didnât look up. Every time, we had to speak 2-3 times to get his attention to get anything done. He did not came to our table once, except when delivering the menu we asked for he said âplease be careful to not get the menu dirty, the owner doesnât like thatâ.
So overall, not a restaurant Iâd...
Read moreI've ordered pickup from Peruvian Taste for lunch a few times and have been pleased with the freshness of the ingredients, the versatility of cuisines and the generosity of portion sizes.
From their "Chifa" (Peruvian Chinese) menu, the "Aeropuerto" was well seasoned, with equal attention paid to the assorted vegetables, chicken and and the char siu pork. The noodles in the "Tallarin Saltado" had a nice texture - maybe a few seconds past al dente - which I found unique compared to other lo mein preparations, and the quail egg was a cute and tasty garnish.
From their "American Taste Bud Friendly" menu, the chicken and french fries in the Pollo Broaster were fried to perfection - crispy on the outside, moist & creamy on the inside - and the strong citrus in the accompanying side salad balanced out the dish and refreshed the palate.
With some time to spare this weekend, I gave their in-person dining a try and was very impressed with the whole experience. The staff was attentive and knew the menu well, the indoor seating was "small but mighty," well lit and scrupulously clean, and the tableware was lavish. I ordered from their "Traditional Peruvian" menu this time, trying their Lomo Saltado and a side of cancha corn nuts. Delicious and perfectly portioned! The steak was fork-tender, the grilled tomato & onion held the flavor of the grill, and there was just enough rice and steak fries to soak up the steak sauce.
Strongly recommend - just beware that the adjoining parking lot is not the restaurant's, but belongs to the carpentry...

Dishes ordered: TamalFlavor excellent! The salsa criolla could use a bit more lime but still good. Aeropuerto where is the flavor! We are missing key ingredients like ginger and oyster sauce. I would master this one. Especially because of the variety you offer. Tallarin Verdeflavor was there and the Lomo was tender and juicy. Lomo al jugo with bread on the side Lomo is the best I have had in Boston yet. Bread? Old and not fresh. Churro super yummy. Not overly sweet. Just right. Picarones definitely authentic. I can taste the hint of anis! Very well done. Decor: authentic, homely...from the writing on the menu board to the music playing on the TV. Things I would recommend the owners to potentially improve: Canchita make sure it is fresh. Chewy is not good at all. Servicewhile I see that the majority of the business is take-out ... I can see why having a proper waiter is really not that crucial. So if nothing else, make sure that the young man understands that he represents the business and he is the face of this establishment. He was nice and cordial but inexperienced and it shows. Other than that. Keep putting out great food. That will keep you in the run for best Peruvian taste...
