The apartment is new and maintained pretty well. The living is pretty comfortable. I have not had issues like blocked drainage or electricity failure as many other places may have. The inner design is a little unfriendly for people that are not very tall, as the shelves are big and some are well beyond the reach of average-height people. So ladders and stuff are needed. A big plus is the huge windows that allow more than enough natural sunlight, which is a very must for people like me. It's location makes it more suitable for those who own a car to go around. That being said, I do enjoy having whole foods, CVS and dunkin in a 5 min driving distance, and Assembly Row is another 5 min drive for anyone who likes shopping. However, the rent on average is not super competitive among new apartments in this general area. After all, the apartment is not located in more convenient area in Cambridge or so on. On top of the rent charged, the extra cost of parking is slightly higher than many comparable apartments in the area and beyond. It is a little disappointing that the Harvey did not provide much of financial help for those who renewed the lease during the peak of the pandemic in 2020, whereas many other apartments have offered price cut or free rent during the dark time for everyone. In addition, it is also a little tricky to have friends over for visit since guest parking is only available for a fee, which is relatively pricy during weekdays. Depending on where your room is, some neighbors complain about pet noises and construction noise, mainly those whose rooms face the main road of Hood Park Drive. The metro and bus station is not too far, but the red and orange lines are extremely crowded in the morning during pre-pandemic era. Many students living at Harvey actually chose to Uber to BU or NEU during the peak hours instead of...
Read moreI believe I was one of the earliest people to sign and move in - when I toured the apartment in June 2019, it was still an active construction site. I felt like it was a gamble moving in as I had no idea how the building and the management team would be like. As it turns out, signing and moving in was a great decision. At here, you will be meeting the best management team: Angel, Janelle, Alexandra, and Isabella, who are the most friendly and helpful people that I have met as a management team. They respond fast, and maintenance requests were done like a breeze.
In terms of the building, this is a new building with fantastic amenities. It is so unfortunate that we could not use many of the amenities due to COVID-19 and social distancing. It is super dog friendly with its own dog run and wash station. Everything is new, and I really like the full-size washer and dryer - you don't see those everywhere.
My friends and I are moving out only because the current WFH policies undermined the value proposition of the Harvey's great (but at a premium) location, and because of the temporary constructions going on. As far as I was told, the construction would be finished in months, and the residents will have a SPA and a cafe in the building; there will be a commercial space nearby that might add value to the residents as well.
Again, I believe the Harvey is an excellent choice, and I never regretted moved in. The rents around Cambridge are high, but the Harvey provided a nice balance between convenience and value. The services provided by the management team made the rent...

I am utterly dismayed by the relentless construction noise that has plagued my living experience at The Harvey. It is with great disappointment that I must highlight the complete lack of concern displayed by the management towards this ongoing issue. If you value your peace and sanity, I strongly advise against choosing this apartment.
From the crack of dawn until late in the evening, the construction noise echoes throughout the building, disrupting any hope of tranquility. The incessant drilling, hammering, and heavy machinery vibrations make it impossible to focus, relax, or even have a decent conversation. The walls seem to offer no respite from the constant chaos. It's an absolute nightmare.
Despite numerous complaints and pleas, the management has shown a complete unwillingness to address the problem. They have turned a blind eye to our suffering, displaying an astonishing level of negligence. The lack of action on their part is both disheartening and unacceptable. Tenants deserve a peaceful living environment, and it is the duty of the management to ensure this. Unfortunately, it seems that their priority lies elsewhere, and they have abandoned their responsibility to...
