I contacted Petraglia Services on August 23 for installation of a fully articulating TV mount in my apartment. One of his contractors came out to install the mount the next day while I was at work and my girlfriend was home. My girlfriend told the contractor where we wanted the middle of the TV to be after mounting (just a bit higher than eye level when sitting on our couch) and he got to work. The contractor had a lot of difficulty installing the mount (took him nearly 2 hours) and when he was finished it was immediately clear that the mount was too high (more than a foot too high). He mentioned to my girlfriend that he knew it is higher than she told him and he can lower the TV on the mount itself (to the lowest setting) but that will only adjust the mount by a few inches. I was constantly on the phone with my girlfriend during the process and we asked him to lower the mount (more than a foot) but he said that he was late to another appointment (because the installation took him so long) but if we were still unhappy with the mount after a day or two, we can call Mike Petraglia back and he will send someone to fix it because they want to make their clients happy. We gave the height of the mount a day (Saturday we tried it) and quickly decided we needed it lower. I texted Mike on Sunday, August 26 about scheduling a time for someone to come and fix the mount. I did not hear back from him and followed up every day (either via text or call) until Monday, September 3 with no responses. On Tuesday, September 5, I contacted Mike using my work phone number and he answered on the first call. After speaking he finally texted me back and said the closest appointment to come fix the wall mount (as well as hanging a sound bar we had and snaking some wires through the wall) was October 3 to October 6 (nearly a month away). I called him as I thought that date was way too far away (especially given someone had come to install the mount the day after I spoke to him originally and he did not answer me for more than a week after my request to have the mount lowered) as it was more than a month after the mount was installed. He said he could have someone come out to only fix the mount (and not hang the speaker and snake the wires) earlier than October 3 to October 6 and we just decided to have someone come fix the mount. He then texted me that he had some time on Thursday or Friday (anytime between 8AM and 4PM). I talked with my girlfriend and responded the next morning proposing a time. Mike then responded that both of those days had filled up (he claimed 2 full days had filled up in less 24 hours). I thought this was unlikely but didn’t want to fight on the point and asked him to send me his availability going forwards. He has not responded since September 9. Additionally, I called Mike on another phone number on September 15 and he answered on the first call. I claimed I wanted to have a TV mounted in my apartment and he said they could absolutely do that and he had time on Tuesday, Thursday or over the weekend (though he continually claimed to me that he had no / limited availability to fix my initial project). In addition to all the problems with Petraglia Services, the quality of work (other than just the height of the mount) that the contractor performed was incredibly poor. I was forced to take the TV off of the mount as it was not securely fastened to the wall. One of the four screws that attached the mount to the wall fell out within a week. The remaining three screws were not even screwed into a stud and have since caused large holes in my wall (due to the weight of the TV pushing the screws down). I was forced to take the mount down as I feared my TV would fall. Petraglia services is one of the least trustworthy businesses I have ever worked with. I would NOT recommend using their services. The owner of the business avoided my calls and texts claiming he was busy but answered both calls I made to him on different numbers as he saw a potential for new business. They did not make any attempts to fix their poor workmanship.

TL;DR: extremely unprofessional and incompetent. Trust the negative reviews. Do not hire. I hired Mike to remove an old mount and install a Mantelmount MM700. During the install: - he installed the new mount upside down on the wall. He had to remove it and remount, leaving two extra holes on the wall that he tried to hide with the wall cover clips that come with the mount - he installed an optional swivel kit without asking, so the TV now swivels only in one direction - removing the old mount created a hole that was patched up poorly - the TV was not mounted level - the handle of the mount was not secured - I had to purchase a separate adapter for the soundbar. He said he'd come back to finish the job when the adapter would come in. Unfortunately, I did not realize the problems with the install before I sent him a payment. I then reached out to ask to patch the extra holes he created on the wall because of the mount flip and to remove the optional swivel plate he installed without asking. I asked if he could do it when he was supposed to come back to finish to install the soundbar. He agreed. The adapter for the soundbar came in and I sent him texts to schedule the install. Like other reviews pointed out, this is when the ghosting started. So I was left with a botched wall patch up, holes on the wall because an incompetent install, a TV that can swivel only in one direction and a soundbar adapter to install. I sent a chargeback for part of the payment on Venmo because of these issues and lack of response on his end. As quick as he was to ghost, he was also quick to call right after the chargeback. He lied about responding to my messages and threatened to beat me up. Do not work with this guy if you expect someone competent and reliable.

Mike showed up on time, with all the necessary parts, and made sure he knew what I wanted before starting the work. During the job there was small snag with the wall construction in my place and Mike presented some options to solve it before dealing with it. Within ~90 min the job was done, everything was cleaned up, and I had a perfectly mounted and functioning TV and sound bar. Mike also gave me some advice for expanding my sound system down the road which I appreciated. Overall I am very happy with the job—Mike is knowledgeable and professional and I will be recommending him to everyone when these types of jobs come up down the road!

This company has a pattern of "ghosting" of its customers. With the high volume of positive reviews, I made the mistake of not looking at the 1-star reviews until it happened to me:

I was looking to have an outlet installed behind my wall-mounted television to avoid visible wires, and I needed to have it done during one of my rare days off. When I called Petraglia and spoke with Mike, he gave me a reasonable pricing estimate and said that he should have availability on the day in question, later the same week. He told me to text him my information to proceed with scheduling. Several days went by, and Mike was minimally responsive, sending occasional short, noncommittal texts but never confirming a date and time. When I straight-out said that it was okay if he was not available but I would want to look elsewhere for service, he finally responded that the date would work but again failed to respond with a time or time range when asked. After several days of this frustrating and unprofessional scheduling process, Mike proposed a 1-hour time range which I promptly agreed to, and then I never heard from him again. I spent my day off waiting around and Petraglia services never showed up. They never called or sent any messages for cancellation, nor did they respond to any of my messages or phone calls. Before posting this review, I even sent Mike a message asking if there had been some sort of misunderstanding. Still nothing.

My day came and went, and not only did Petraglia fail to do the job they agreed to do, but they completely wasted my time and essentially prevented me from booking someone more reliable for the same time period. If you value your time, please look elsewhere for service. If you decide to try Petraglia but find that they are not committing to an appointment time in a prompt manner, please do not show them the patience and courtesy I did -- it is a clear sign that you should look elsewhere. I can’t say enough good things about this company and Mike in specific. I found this company on a simple google search because I needed 3 TVs hung on a very complicated place. After I tried doing it with my brother from 10:00am I finally gave up. I sat down literally on my knees hopeless and thinking this is impossible. I called Mike around 6:00 pm where I thought I’m no one will answer at this time but let’s just try it, sure enough Mike answers and I explained what i needed and where I was stuck. He said over the phone that sounds easy, for something that I can assure anyone was impossible to do. He said when do you need it done? I replied today because I need to open up the shop first thing in the morning. He was driving with this wife and kids, and said I will stop by to come and look at it and we can go from there. He came in a few minutes after we spoke, saw the job that needed to be done. And said if you don’t mind I have to do something’s with my family and help his wife with the kids, I will come in at 9pm to get it done for you. Mike not only kept his word and came in at the time expected, But what an incredible job he did. The most professional I’ve probably ever worked with in my entire business career. This is the only person/company I will ever call for these types of services. I don’t care even I move from this country, I’m calling Mike booking his flight and hotel because you can’t find work and professionals that will drop anything they are doing to help a client the way he did. He will go to the moon for you like mike did for me and brother. I can keep going on and write a bible about this experience, but I want to make it as short and sweet as possible so people read and dont just scroll down on this incredible 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟experience I had.
