*Disclaimer, the picture is of sushi I got from Flaming Grill and put on a cutting board to feel fancy. A lot of sushi for cheap, the amount of sushi in each pic is ~$10 give or take.
My experience is more with takeout than dine-in, but the times I have dined-in the service was fine. There is no Apple Pay or Google Pay. If you pay with a card, it must be more than $5. You can make a nice plate for less than $5 cash if you're looking for a light meal.
I am guilty of loving Flaming Grill too much. I think the employees recognize me at this point. I will admit, not ALL the food is great, but you have to choose wisely. I go for sushi almost always. Then my other go-tos are wings, shrimp pasta, fried gyoza, coconut shrimp, fried scallops, lo mein, seaweed salad, and crab rangoons.
If you are a picky eater or generally don't like greasy/oily foods, this place probably isn't for you. It definitely is for me, I find most of what they serve comforting. I've also heard remarks in person and through the reviews that the place is gross, I don't know anything about that. It's a buffet, I don't have super high standards for it. I'm poor and hungry.
Some things I don't particularly like are the fried rice (bland), baked fish (bland and overcooked), macaroni and cheese (bland and watery), and pizza (tastes like school pizza). I'm sorry FG, but the wonton soup is disgusting. It's not wonton soup, it's like thick raviolis in a really salty soup.
Things I've gotten occasionally that are great options are miso soup and the chicken nuggets.
There is a salad bar, and it looks fresh, but c'mon it's a buffet I'm getting my money's worth! If you're looking to make your own salad for cheap, probably less than $6, it's a good option.
Now for the sushi... nigiri (rice and fish only) is usually the way to go. Think about it, most places sell 2 pieces of nigiri for $5 or more. You could get a container full and it's not gonna run you past $20. They have soy sauce, spicy mayo, wasabi, and ginger on the side of the sushi bar. I have a stomach of steel, I can say I've never gotten sick from their sushi. I even ate the cooked oysters + cooked clams, which was a risk I was willing to take, and they're good too.
TLDR; good Chinese buffet, fried stuff good, sushi good, no mobile pay, affordable, don't eat if you don't like...
Read moreThis is how it happened: I took my two kids to eat at this restaurant. Flaming Grill and Buffet located it at 31F Furlong Dr,Revere MA 02151.When I went to get some soup, I noticed there were no soup bowls left—not even rice bowls. The only things nearby were some plastic cold-drink cups. We used those to hold the hot soup. When I brought it back to my table, I saw the cup had already melted.
I asked a server to bring me a bowl—even a takeout soup container would do. He said he’d get one, but after waiting a long time, no one brought anything. I saw a group of staff standing around playing on their phones instead of helping. When I asked him about it, he said I wasn’t his customer.
Later, I called over my server, Eason, and asked him to get a bowl. He told me there were none. I asked, “Not even takeout soup containers? Why are employees over there using bowls for their meals? And why are you using soup containers to hold trash and pens, but have nothing for me to put soup in?” He replied, “We only have those plastic cups. Use them or don’t—it’s up to you.”
It wasn’t a huge deal at first, but his attitude was terrible. The table next to me also said they had no bowls and couldn’t drink their soup. I told the server, “Do you realize melted plastic releases toxic chemicals? Those cups are for cold drinks! I also run a restaurant.” He called me “troublesome” and swore at me and my family in Chinese—probably not realizing I understand Chinese.
I asked for his name. He snapped, “Why should I tell you?” When I spoke to the manager, he offered me a discount. I said, “I’m not here for a discount—I’m telling you this is no way to handle problems. At the very least, that server owes me an apology.” The server refused to apologize and even said, “Go ahead and complain—see if I care.”
I told him I didn’t want to argue and paid the full bill before leaving. Attached below is...
Read moreI am going to write about the best restaurant, Flaming Grill Buffet. It's my most favorite restaurant and it's near my house. I can walk there and it's not that far and the outside looks so big and red.
The first reason I love the restaurant is because they could cook fast and they have ice cream, the best ice cream I ever had. They have lots of food there. When it runs out they put another tray in. It's the best food I ever had. Their drinks are the best. They have soda and they have milkshakes with a cherry on top. Also you don't have to wait you go and get your food. You can get anything you want like shrimp fry rice and its brown. They have that nice crispy chicken and the smell leads you straight to it.
The second thing I like about the Flaming Grill Buffet is the setup. They have guest rooms if they're having a party. They have comfy chairs and also they have nice and colorful chandeliers. They go different rainbow colors. Also the walls have a nice color to it. And sometimes it does not take that long for the line. You can get in and get a table fast and you don't have to wait. You just go get your food. You can get what you want like shrimp with the spicy sauce. They have good food that makes my mouth explode with flavor.
The third thing I like about the restaurant is the location. They are located between Walgreens and Dollar Tree. They have lots of parking and they have lots of space. Lots of people go there.
I like Flaming Grill. It's the best restaurant in town. You can take the bus, you can take a car, or you can walk to it. You should go to Flaming Grill Buffet.
