Billian Legion Park — Attraction in Bound Brook

Great ball field! Very, very poor playground. The playground is heavily used by children and teens. It is also used for carnivals and events. The play area is full of litter, mainly cigarette butts and such. Much of the equipment is broken and poorly maintained. It also serves as auxiliary parking for the Meridia Main Station Apartments across the street. This could easily be the best park in the city, if a new playground were installed and maintained.

It is rather disappointing that the rest of the park is well maintained, yet the playground is not maintained, or even safe for small children. Park is alright, it has a playground, a baseball field and a sand volleyball court, but other than that, the park is really bland. There are no picnic tables to sit, there are no public restrooms (besides the random porta potty that they sometimes have, but isn't always clean) there are no pavilions, or shelters besides one tiny Gazebo. Up until a few months ago, they also had a Parking lot that only held 5 parking spaces, the rest of the park has been taken over by the Meridia apartment complex's parking lot, and is considered private property, so don't park in there. I am actually really impressed at the cleanliness of this park. My 6 year old daughter lived the playground, she hasn’t been this excited In a while about a playground because we explore many parks often. This one is. If and adventurous, nothing is broken or vandalized and it’s clean. There’s benches to sit on, walk away around the field, a portable bathroom, plenty of parking, a volleyball court with clean sand and a baseball field which I believe requires a permit to use. But maybe can play and use if it’s couple people. Overall really impressed with this park and it’s only 6 minutes from my house. Will be definitely returning! ...
