Nope. We were pretty excited to ride this coaster after riding the Runaway Mountain Coaster a few days prior. The ride is not nearly as good, and the customer service is absolutely horrible.
First, the ride. The other mountain coaster we rode was comfortable, smooth, and had an interesting course. By contrast, the Copperhead cars are very hard on your rear end and there were two hard "pads" lateral to my shoulders that I suspect I was supposed to wedge between, but I couldn't fit between them to get my upper back all the way against the back of the seat. I'm a thin guy, so I don't imagine many people can squeeze in there. It caused the pads to press against my outer arms for most of the ride, which wasn't very comfortable.
Worse, though, was the customer service. All of the ads for Copperhead encourage you to "Skip the line" by buying your ticket and filling out the waiver online. We did, then stood in line with our two kids who were eager for the ride. When we got to the front of the ride the attendant said "You have to have paper tickets." I showed him the tickets on my phone and he said "You have to take that into the office and have a paper ticket printed." You would never know this unless you read the fine print on the emailed ticket, or else read the small sign that you cannot see until you get to the front of the line! (For what it's worth, I saw several other people go through the same thing, so this is obviously a common source of confusion.)
I asked him if we were going to have to wait in line again and he said yes. I told him it would have been nice to know about the paper tickets beforehand and he said "Sorry, I just take tickets and put people on the ride."
We went inside the office and waited 10 minutes in line so the woman behind the desk could print a paper ticket for us. I told her it was frustrating that the need for a paper ticket wasn't made clearer, and I pointed out that other people were confused about it as well. She shrugged and said "Sorry, my job is just to print out paper tickets." My wife quickly jumped in and said "We are trying to HELP you. This is obviously a common problem, so we thought by pointing it out you might pass it on to the management." The woman seemed totally disinterested and said "Yeah, we try to talk to management but they don't really listen to us." I thanked her for her candor and said it would make a perfect component of my Google review.
Her admission perfectly summarized what is wrong with the Copperhead Mountain Coaster experience, and with Sheperd of the Hills. The employees simply don't care, and apparently it's because management hasn't given them reason to care. When you have employees telling customers "management doesn't listen to us," that's a very bad sign. The administration obviously hasn't created a workplace culture that translates to a good customer experience, and that's a real shame. We had considered visiting the other Shepherd of the Hills attractions, but not after our...
Read moreIf I could give this place no stars, I absolutely would. They discriminate against people with disabilities and refuse to give refunds. I traveled to Branson with my family on vacation, and we visited this location because it had been a fun experience the previous year. My aunt is disabled using a wheelchair but can still walk with assistance; yes, she rode the ride last year. We read the disclaimer sign, filled out the waiver, and my uncle went on to buy himself and my aunt a ticket after tax that was about 40 dollars for the two of them. When they went to get on the ride, the individual working said she couldn't go because if the ride got stopped, she would have to walk up the hill. The likelihood of it happening was very minimal, but apparently, they "changed" their policy this year, and you must be capable of walking back up. I could not find anything that says this update on their posted signs. My uncle and aunt complied and didn't go on the ride. Now, the part that irritated the entire group is the fact that when my uncle tried to get a refund, they basically told him to get lost and that refunds that don't happen. Now I'm not a rocket scientist, but I'm pretty sure it would not have been that hard to just sell the ticket to the next person who paid with cash or have a manager fix it later. A lot of you were probably wondering why we didn't do that..... haha, we sure did try but couldn't find anyone paying with cash. Here is another point to ponder..... why would anyone have to walk up the hill when they will have to send some sort of machine to get the coaster the person was riding in. They literally just discriminate against those who need extra help. In a world full of hate and crazy people it takes just a moment to spread joy and happiness I feel like this establishment just tries to take in as much money as they can and says screw you if that doesn't work for you. Definitely would not...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible experience.. we left and did not ride. We will never be back and will be sure to tell other's not to go... there are signs all over stating you need to sign a waiver... people will skip the waiver and then leave the line to fill it out... The employees will then allow those same people to then line jump, no matter how large the group is.. these people WERE NOT a group that had already purchased tickets and filled out a waiver ONLINE... they cut in front of us AT THE WINDOW as we were trying to buy our tickets. We filled our waiver out as we were suppose too. This group did not. We had been in line a long time already. The employee just let them without hesitation.. They also only have veteran discounts at certain times, when asked about the veterans discount they stated "we did it last month but not this month".. Do not waste your time.. money hungry and a waste of time! You will stand in line for hours. You will leave feeling frustrated.. there are two other coasters is branson that are much better.. 10/10 would recommend the branson moutain coaster over this experience.. it was a lot more seamless, better employees and they seemed to actually care and enforce the rules.. the wait times were less because of how smoothly they send everyone through.. everything at copperhead seems to be a little run down.. none of the tablets work for the waivers and then the scale was broke. It makes me question how safe the actual coaster is if they can't even keep up with their park/ waiting areas for their customers.. if I could give a 0 star review I definitely would.. just skip it. There are so many more exciting ways to spend your time! Copperhead...
