Let me just start this with saying that Sewell Mill is AMAZING. The week of my wedding had started off on a devastating note... I had booked a different venue and when I called to check on it they had 'lost' everything and booked someone over me. I had paid for the entire day and barely got half of my money back. I was so upset. My mother in law contacted Sewell Mill and they got me in the same day to show me the venue and I decided to book (It's very affordable! less than I paid for the full day and night before at the other venue.) Not only was the space more than enough for my wedding but it was beautiful too. Everyone was so helpful the night before and the day of my wedding to make it the best it could've been and as stress free as they could. The space is absolutely beautiful. There's a bridal suite where 6 of us got ready comfortably, a kitchen off to the side of the Cherry Blossom Ballroom that made getting food prepped and placed out easy, tables and chairs all accessible, the chandelier and fairy lights made for beautiful pictures during the dances. All in all 11/1/2018 was the best day of my life and I know that it wouldn't have been as great had they not stepped in and saved my day. Thank you, Sewell Mill, from the bottom of my heart. Read moreThe staff at sewell mill needs to get a clue. I rented the cherry blossom room for an event 9 months before the actual event were to take place. When I went to get the keys 2 days before my party I discovered that SEVERAL lights were blown. You could barely see to set up the tables & decor. When I asked to have them replaced the lady told me the bulbs were located in the closet and we could replace them. EXCUSE ME! Needless to say, after complaining to my coordinator the lights were replaced the next day. But that's not the worst part. The worst part is on the day we went to set up we discovered that the kitchen is INFESTED with roaches!! Not just one or two. But hundreds! I've never seen a public place like that. And when I told the staff, all they said was "well, it is a nonprofit organization." Ok?? What difference does that make lady? It's nasty. I couldn't use the kitchen at all. It was a waste. Read moreMy son rented Sewell Mill for his wedding reception on March 27, 2015. Hannah and the team handled all of our requests and annoying questions (and believe me we had tons of questions) professionally. The facility is huge. We threw a very elegant reception with a guest list of about 300 and had plenty of space. Hannah and her team made sure everything went smoothly. She treated us like family the entire time. She even danced at the reception (by the way she really has some moves). Not only will I make sure to book all of our events at Sewell Mill, but I have referred her to all of my clients, colleagues, family and friends. This event hall is about 30-40 minutes from our home, but it's more than worth the drive. The reception was so much fun, my son & daughter in law are expecting their first child next year.
