R.C. Dickenson Family YMCA — Attraction in Broken Arrow

Absolutely ridiculous!!! Hate that I only got to spend maybe 5mins in the pool if im being generous... I'm not sure if lifeguard training or communication is the issue! But to call a grown woman out for diving into the DEEPend of the pool 5ft where it's CLEARLY NOT labeled as no diving but the rest of the pool is... by not 1 but 2 lifeguard standing together then get an attitude when I ask since when has NO diving been a rule in the deep end, I have been coming for the last 2-3 years and always been told to ONLY dive from the end of the 5ft area of the pool.... Was told it's always been a rule no diving anywhere, then with attitude was told "well clearly no other life guard has seen you do it" haha multiple lifeguards have seen me do it AND been told ONLY THAT END OF THE POOL.. then when I asked why is it not labeled no diving in that area then?!?I'm told again with attitude again "well I don't know it just is that way!?!" Completely ruined my swimming experience with my son... And I was treat like some little child like I was actually doing something wrong or hurting someone, no one else was in the lane and the pool was not over crowed.. again when I asked why?!? I get met with rudeness and thats just how it is... I have pictures showing no diving around the whole pool EXCEPT the 5ft end does that make and...

This location is the reason I decided to get a membership somewhere else and take my son elsewhere for sports. The sports are mainly for fun since it is parent based, my son is only 4, so the very little that the staff is actually involved was so unpleasant. First they told me to request my son be on my nieces team, and for her to do the same since I would be taking them together and they are the same age. They did not get put on the team. Then, we got 4 notices our team would be dissolved since we didn’t have a coach even though I volunteered to coach twice over email and once in person. Reached out to Nic, the athletic director twice about not being able to go to the practice time and to please be moved to my nieces team with a later practice time, which we’ve done before at the Tandy location. Got ignored. Reached out to the coach and told her and she said to email Nic at the same email I had, and he completely ignored my question and asked for my sons name to issue a refund. I asked if there was any work around, he ignored my question AGAIN and just asked for my son’s name for a refund. This was a HORRIBLE experience compared to Owasso and Tandy! If your sport gets moved here just ask for a refund...

I no longer use the Dickenson Y, or any Y for that matter daily but the floor staff was always nice and cordial.

My family membership was terminated without my knowledge. When I found out on January 8th 2024 I went to reactivate it and I was told that I would need to pay over triple what I was paying for the past several years (pre-covid). I am a disabled veteran so I was given a pretty cheap price that I could afford. I was informed that what I have been paying was (employee) pricing, even though this is not the case and I was not an employee when this rate was given to me. I do have the bank statements from way back then showing that I have always paid this certain price.

What I find truly distasteful is management would not tell me this themselves, even though they were in the office behind the desk, they made the young lady at the desk tell me.
