Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Tulsa

My husband went to pick up our mobile order last night. He tried to use a free chicken sandwich that I had on the app. It was 7.07 so he ran to get 7 cents from the car and when he came back inside they couldn't figure out how to give him his exact change, so they voided the transaction and started over. Then because he'd already shown them the coupon for the free sandwich it disappeared and they tried to charge him for it. They KNEW he hadn't used it but gave him this whole list of reasons why they now couldn't honor it and they were all his fault. Not just that but they were so rude to him. When I called after he got home a Precious and a Chloe told me that he was lying, they weren't rude to him and they'd tried to make it right by giving him a free sandwich and when I asked why they didn't give him a free one I was told well we just didn't think about it at the time, we're new managers. SO BE CAREFUL!! If there's something wrong or you try to pay in change they won't know what to do till after the fact. Needless to say after being rude to my husband and myself we'll take our business to Raising Cains and Zaxbys. The only nice thing i can say is my husband said the cashier was very nice and tried to point out to the manager who started the whole mess that she'd just seen his coupon so she knew he had it. We walked in and the girl at the counter was super friendly and helpful. She gave us hints on the menu such as the ability to replace fries with other sides and that you can get all but their chicken sandwich in a grilled option instead of fried. It was very clean and bright and they have a lot of variety in beverages, especially iced teas. The prices were good, we fed our family of four with 2 kid's meals and 2 adult meals for $33. The mac and cheese was surprisingly tasty and creamy. It could have been a hair warmer but no big deal to me. The flavor made up for it. The tenders were good and hot and my husband liked his sandwich. The fried pickles were great and super hot, and the dessert jars were DELICIOUS. It's a nice touch that they come in a Mason jar that you can take home, especially since I was so full I couldn't finish mine. I just dropped it in my purse when we left. 😁 I like the variety of sauces that they have, several that aren't an option at other fast food chicken joints. The patio was very nice and even had a TV outside as they do inside. Perfect for game days. My kids (who love Zaxby's) said this might be their new fave. First time trying a Slim Chickens. I was in the mood for a chocolate shake so I thought I would try out their hand-spun version. The shake was better than most fast food places. It didn't have that soft serve taste to it and it was nice and thick. I think they use Ghirardelli chocolate as the flavoring for the chocolate shake. My only complaint with the shake is that they give you a straw with the tiniest diameter ever. I had to take the lid off and drink it that way. It was giving me a headache trying to get the thick shake through the little tiny straw. I also had the Smokey Cheddar Wrap. The sauce was a good mix of smokey and a warm heat. The chicken strips in the wrap were fried well and not dried out, and I liked the greens in my wrap. I don't eat fries very often, but I really liked their fries. They were very lightly seasoned and had just the right crunch. I usually eat my fries plain but I tried the Slim Sauce just to see what it tastes like. I liked it. It was a pretty mild flavor with a little kick of pepper in the background. The service was quick and friendly at the drive-thru.
