I took a coin there that I wanted a second opinion on. There was a woman and a man in there. The woman, though she couldnāt properly identify the coin, was very kind and admitted she didnāt know what it was. The man there was extremely rude and claimed the piece was a worthless replica of something. Without even taking a look at the coin. When I told him I know what it is, and wasnāt looking for an ID of the coin but just an opinion on it, he rudely asked why I believe it is what it is. Took my coin and went to David Derzon Coin. They were extremely helpful, immediately and correctly identified the coin, and gave me great advice on what to do with it. If you have a coin that you feel is worth something and need a professional opinion on it I cannot recommend enough to NOT go to Greater Milwaukee. If you may have a once in a lifetime coin it is not worth risking their improper identification, not to mention, not at all worth dealing with whomever works there.
(Iām not sure how to respond to a response so Iām just adding my response here)
I never ONCE claimed it to be gold. You improperly identified it as a replica gold 10$ piece for some reason, when I already told you what it was. I said from the start it was not a US mint coin, but you refused to listen. Youāre extremely rude reply claiming my coin to be āfoundā (implying stolen) and to be āless than a pennyā is a great example of the customer service you will find at this store. Let me remind you that the coin they are referring to was easily properly identified by...

What a joke, jacked up price. Owner Didnt care what so ever on what there price quoted is. There are too many other good places too purchase from that if they give you a price, they stand by it.. Not Here. ......(1st Response to owners previous, now deleted post) Not true on your Statement. You where not the lowest price local at 22x, several dealers in milwaukee at the time where 22x on 90% and others lower than 22x. Also Your store was open for Business, and I still received the lower pricing quote, even after I had Ieft, same lower quote. I Saw no integrity with your actions, all other dealers that I have done business with, stand by there word. You do Not... --- (2nd Response to how your new story now changes into a fairy tail) #2 Are you serious, yelling and throwing a fit??? What conversation was available, you stated clearly your terms. Also any one that does not do what they say, of coarse will never receive or deserve our Business......
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe original owners, Russ and Ken, were staples in the local coin community; however, there are new owners now. When the store was reopening, I brought in a few coins and a small amount of gold in to sell.
A few of my items were not really looked at, but they passed on the coins that they did take a look at. The offer on the gold ring was also a bit on the low side compared to another shopās offer at the time, although to be fair it was a small amount of gold for a new shop to buy and might not have been worth the time for them. The staff here was certainly not rude and were quite polite, but we were unable to make a deal. I ended up going to another shop in town and getting more than my ask on my coins.
Just my personal experience with the new shop, so I figured I should...
