This place is right in Brookings downtown. There are some parking at the entrance. By the way, google maps points to the private entrance to go here. Actually, you have to go to the wastewater treatment facility entrance. The entrance of this park is located there. The wastewater treatment facility gives off that awful smell. Once you get through that though, you get the fresh sea breeze.
The park starts off with a leveled area with some picnic tables. Then you get to the hill on the sea. There are two routes into this area. Going left will lead you the rocky beach. Beware of the hazards. Going right will lead you to the top of the hill. There are lots of great views from there. Checkout the pics and vids I took. Great...
Read moreSuper place to visit, nice paved pathway, cracking good views. We went down to the beach which meant leaving the paved trail. That involved minor clambering. A lot of fun. Bathrooms and dog park on route. Docked a star for the minor reason that the parking is by the sewer plant. Don't let that put you off, spectacular views. We saw an American Eagle, and a heron amongst other birds. We explored Rock pools on the beach. Next time we will stay on the path and head to the headland. Picnic benches and regular benches along the way for the gentler souls. Lovely find and not many folks out on this...

The hike up to Chetco point is easy and paved, with a bit of an incline but very walkable for little ones. Once you get up to the top there’s a nice surprise art installation and I paved trails out to the edges of the point, but we mostly kept to the paved walkway because of our 3 rambunctious kids. The trail also leads down to a beach good for beach combing for shells and such. We went around 4:30 so the tide was going out and we saw some starfish and other tide...
