Good afternoon. I wanted to write and say, Cascade has a lot of products. They are my main go-to for home repair, landscape tools and animal feed.
I've lived in Brookings since 2015, and honestly my experience in the drive-thru area at Cascade Home Center has been disappointing.
The agents hired in the drive-thru area are definitely not customer service oriented. When I pick up feed for my farm animals, the agents very rarely greet me with good morning or good afternoon. Furthermore, when I thank them for their service, they typically don't respond at all. I've had employees working there just stare at me and walk away, saying nothing.
I get the vibe that the employees are very suspicious or rude to anyone who's not your average, country life, white man or woman. It's unsettling honestly, and way below customer service standards of years past. I hope they improve customer service training going forward. Employees putting in that effort...
Read moreIt was so refreshing to stop by a hardware store and receive excellent customer service. The first associate I encountered asked what I needed. She sent me to the correct aisle and indicated someone would be there shortly to help. I started to read thru the "do-it-yourself" manual I brought with me then the associate arrived and took over from there. I left the store with the tools I needed to complete the repair. After thanking "Curtis", the associate who helped me locate correct tools, I then showed him pictures of a second repair job I needed to get completed. He indicated the store also had those items in stock if I would go out to the second building around back. All-in-all, a great experience and I will certainly return. The service a person gets at this store outweighs any savings you might get by going to a large "box store" where you would likely wander the aisles aimlessly trying to guess...
Read moreStore is well kept and inviting. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My husband and I recently moved to Brookings and have appreciated the convenience of the store being located close to our home. Weâve been coming in frequently to pickup items for the new house. What I hadnât realized is that you need to belong to their rewards program in order to reap the benefits of their sales. At check out the cashiers ask for your rewards card but do nothing in the way of informing the customer of the price difference if youâre not a member. Nor do they ask if you wish to join and explain the benefits of joining. I do believe theyâre aware of this and my be taking advantage of the unsuspecting customer. Which is what happened when we went in to purchase an item that was sale for $169 and we landed up paying the full price of $269. Be aware of this when purchasing from esp if youâre...
