My sister and I went here for lunch to pick up one of their famous 18 inch hoagies from the deli after seeing a review about it online. The place smelled awesome (I was hungry 😏) with the aroma of fresh ingredients. I purchased a turkey hoagie and an Italian hoagie with the works. The sandwiches were Huge! I was in Hoagie LA LA Land when I walked out the deli. But when I got them home, the disappointment brought me back to the real world. I felt like I was the lady from the burger commercial asking "Where's the Beef!?" I'm used to getting at least 3 types of meat in my Italian hoagie. This one only had 2! The turkey was so thinly sliced, with just 2 layers, all I tasted was cheese and veggies even after I folded the meat from one side of the bun onto the other side! I gave this place a 2 because my sister said she likes a lot of veggies on her sandwiches. Otherwise I would have given it a 1 because I'm not a vegetarian. My suggestion would be, if you're gonna be serving 18 inches of hoagie rolls, actually put enough meat on it so you can see and taste it. Too much bread for so little meat.

It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and I just finished showing homes nearby, so I had an adventure getting hoagies at Verchio's Produce & Deli - Brooklawn. The bad weather seemed to deter the crowd because the last time I drove by the parking lot was packed. I walked through the produce aisles and back to the deli. I ordered Italian, Chicken Salad, and American. The hoagies were made fresh and worth the wait. The highlight of my adventure was getting my 3 giant hoagies for only ten bucks each! I could barely carry them up to the register. All I wanted to do was take a bite but I waited until I got home and they all were delicious! We ate as much as we could that night but there was still plenty leftover. We brought them to our neighbors house for football and everyone enjoyed them. If you’re in the Brooklawn area, go get hoagies from Verichios, you won’t be disappointed! 🥖🥪 #verchioshoagies #brooklawnnj #hoagie #adventuresinsouthjersey

Great hoagies from the deli. You can't beat the price to size ratio anywhere. The staff can be a bit "sharp" when it gets busy and it's always busy. Don't expect manners and smile with your order, just be grateful they didn't wait until you reached the counter to tell you they're closed. The website and a sign on the door say you can call ahead and skip the line, but don't bother trying to call in an order for same day pick up. It seems that no matter what time of day I call they are "booked for the day" but I'm more than welcome to walk-in and order. The hoagie line is rarely less than a 30 min wait. It's a struggle to stand there smelling the great ingredients while starving. The sandwich prep area is way too small for the volume they do. The lunch meat counter area is the width of the building while the hoagie area looks more like an after thought.

Verchio's is definitely a family staple for us, and their produce section is always wonderful. But the hoagie employees Absolutely not.

On August 1st, the gentleman stationed at the deli were super nice, but then there was the woman who took my hoagie order, Ashlynn. Her attitude was miserable and less than kind. We waited a solid 15 minutes with absolutely no acknowledgment or eye contact. When she finally got around to asking what hoagie I wanted, I actually had to say, "Hi, how are you?" because isn’t that how normal people greet each other?

To make it worse, they have this passive-aggressive sign right in front of the counter. It basically says, "Unfortunately for you, we're not fast food and we're working as fast as we can." But honestly? Ashlynn and another guy, who also seemed pretty arrogant, looking up and continuing to also ignore customers, were just chatting and taking their sweet time. It felt like they were doing the opposite of working as fast as they could. With a positive attitude, I’m willing to be patient, having to wait is not a problem here.

When I finally got my sandwich, I had to be the one to say "THANK YOU," and Ashlynn’s reply was just an ignorant "yup." I asked for her name because it's a real shame for one young, arrogant person to dim the reputation of what's usually a great place.

She won't stop me from coming back, but you can bet next time I'll be asking for a different sandwich maker. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but looking at other reviews, this seems like an ongoing problem.

The place is really nice and I LOVE that you can select your own fruits/vegetables. The reason why I gave this location one start is because, in the past I’ve always brought my little dog in with me, of which is in a dog bag and the only body part that is showing is her tiny head. Today, Saturday, November 25th the old man that normally sits at the entrance asked, “do you have a baby in your bag” and I smiled and said, yes, this is my baby!” (Thinking he was going to say she was cute like everyone else have said in passing). Why would you even sarcastically ask me if I have a “baby” in my bag and then proceed to say, I couldn’t bring my dog in and I have to leave. I told him I’ve brought her in many of times and said there are no signs that says pets aren’t allowed. I just left the store and will NEVER return. Although I love this location I will not allow myself nor my pet to be treated as such especially when I’ve gone in numerous times in the past with my pet. I know there is food everywhere and I totally get it; that’s why the only thing that is always exposed is her tiny head so she can breath. I would leave her in the car but it’s too cold out. Anyhow, hopefully this mom and pop business will train there employees accordingly and perhaps put signs out and make them visible so that it’s seen, “if, in fact pets...

If you live anywhere near the Brooklawn, Bellmawr, Gloucester City etc, etc.. area and have not visited Verchio's I suggest you give it a try. Truth be told I'd be shocked to meet someone that hasn't been to this place! LOL.. Before I go any further have to add one little, teeny weeny problem. The "Second" traffic circle where Verchio's is located frequently floods. I mean really floods.. 🌊 Built on swampland the Delaware river or a tributary of it is right behind and alongside the store. So needless to say a nice little downpour and the place is inaccessible for hours. Don't drive thru the water!!! Over the years locals have kinda made a sport outta laughing at bobbing cars. Having said all THAT the store is a great place for produce, lunch meat and increasingly hoagies. Christmas Eve they actually ran out of rolls and couldn't make any more sandwiches. Verchio's operates on volume and variety. Prices are noticeably cheaper and quality is good. I often see fruits and vegetables I've never even heard of and everything looks fresh. They are always well staffed which makes sense given how busy they are. Seasonal offerings abound with a pumpkin selection during Halloween second to none. So... Stop by and shop lots unless you see water in which case I would not. (I'm a terrible...
