Christiana Skating Center — Attraction in Brookside

My 1st time getting on social media about a business smh. Booked a party for my granddaughter Christiana Skating Center I arrived @12:45pm when I arrived owner/manager on duty, had a very nasty attitude. I figure she was just having a bad morning .. when I say this lady just kept on bothering my family it was just too much .. She accused my step- daughter for not paying, in front of other people , instead of coming to me the party host, to ask if she paid, in which she did pay , we had to verify the last four digits of her card, she found the transaction didn’t say a word just smirked and walked off. I ask who was over top of her because I didn’t like her attitude she told me that she was the owner. Her attitude went on all afternoon she was talking to the staff crazy, (I feel sorry for children that have to work under her) . My neice was dropping off the cake she was nasty with her, for no reason . Another family came not sure what went on for her to say they must be with that ANGRY BLACK FAMILY which I was the black family in the party area… The incident with this family the police were called not sure why. So now its a guy claiming to be the owner wasn’t listening to anything, he kept referring to other people not paying or other nights , then stated he was home watching football , so I find out he’s only security. So I don’t know who the owner is. I would NOT recommend CHRISTIANA SKATING CENTER 801 Christiana road newark, DE . for a birthday party with this Owner/Manager. Too much to say about this place to fit here. I first got invited here by Rich preppy kids when I was in the 6th grade. Anyway, after they stopped inviting me, my mom, sister and me just kept going anyway. We would stagger around the outside of the rink, I still remember touching the screws on the flashing lights at one end of the rink. Then eventually I got courage to move away from the edge a little bit, then to lift both my feet went skating... I was never like the people who did the synchronized routines and could never escape backwards but I got to where I was practically dancing with the music, which is the best feeling!

This past weekend I went back for maybe the 1st time in 20 years. I walked in saying to my son and husband, I don't know if I can still do this. But it very very slowly came back to me. And I also made my first request ever, one of the rink's classics - "Jam On It" by Newcleus. Oh what a feeling that was. Thank you Christiana for taking me right back to one of the best parts of my childhood. And if you're from Delaware especially, this place is such a big part of everybody's childhood since everybody says there's nothing to do in...

The price is good. It's not enough control with the skaters or the rude lil girls in there. The skaters don't watch out for children. They literally push them speed around them. It's no control the referee wasn't doing anything. They were more worried bout my 9 year old son's hoodie on when the teenage girls in there are so rude, they don't move, the bump you, no manners, just terrible behavior. The bathroom was disgusting! Absolutely disgusting! Small, urine on the toilet,not flushed smelly. Absolutely disgusting. Food was typical at a place like this. I absolutely will not be going back which is a shame cause it's not far and my kids had fun even though they were pushed, knocked over and barked at. Yes barked!! The price is really good the man at the skate rental was extremely nice, the girls at the register not so much. Just typical bad attitude teens all throughout the place. There needs to be better rules enforced. It is crowded with teen girls with nasty attitudes . The skaters don't have any rules at least none implemented. The bathroom was absolutely horrific. I can find another skate rink forthe same price I'd even pay a little higher for a better atmosphere.First...
