Alterations By Candice — Attraction in Buffalo

This place is a horrible excuse of a business. I called before bringing two very special and sentimental blankets made by my great grandmother. These were handmade patch quilt blankets for my two sons. After love and snuggles for two years they needed stitching along the borders of the squares. I haven’t touched a sewing machine in years and wanted to get them cared for asap. I dropped them off on a Thursday and after three weeks I reached out to check on them because I had yet to receive a phone call that they were done. Upon her answering she spent several minutes telling me she has no idea what my order is then cut me off and told me they will be ready the next day. After a busy week I picked them up the following week when she was open because she keeps extremely unconventional hours. When my fiancé picked them up she spent 5 consecutive minutes telling him how awful they were. Then she proceeded to tell him how we should throw them out. I was so heartbroken over her words and even more disgusted with how easily she spoke about another Nonna’s craftsmanship. I brought them home and just laid them out to look at them. She did about 50% of the job, used several different colored thread and some were clearly done by hand and others by machine. There are still many holes left to repair. This entire experience has been an absolute nightmare and I am disgusted with how this woman operates her business. I’m visiting Buffalo for my cousins wedding. I had a pair of pants altered before I came, but they were a bit tight in the waist and I didn’t have time to take them back before I flew into Buffalo. The next morning after getting to town I called Candice to see if she could help me even though it was a last minute alteration. She said to come in and she would take a look. Not only did she fix my pants, but because she only had to move the button over, she didn’t charge me. She said, “Welcome to Buffalo!!! The people are nice here!!! A while back I purchased drapes and shears from an online company. I didn't get around to installing them until 2 months ago. The set for my picture window was perfect however the sliding glass door was 2" too long. I found Candice in a search, called and brought in my drapes. I was greeted by a friendly family and my items were looked over and I was given a price and time of completion. The alterations were done perfectly and I picked up my drapes at the given time.
