Food should never come out of the kitchen smelling like fecal matter.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. We were a medium party of 8 and made reservations for 7:30 PM on 6/1 (aka, staff were aware that we were coming in). This was a family event, and my MIL was very excited to support a new, local business. The service was great up until a certain point.

The appetizers we ordered were fine, but every main course dish we ordered had some sort of issue (overdone duck, savory dishes too sweet, the crispy duck dish had pieces that were too hard to consume, etc. - most of the party couldn't finish their meals). However, there was one dish in particular that was very, very bad. Our youngest party member ordered the Pad Thai - a dish that she's enjoyed at other establishments, no problem. This dish came out smelling like a chicken coop. She said it didn't taste right and most of the table tried it, only to confirm it really did not taste right.

We alerted staff - The first person seemed confused as to what the problem was, so I let her know that it didn't smell right or taste good, we weren''t eating it, and we needed it taken off of the bill. Our main server came out to see what was happening, she apologized profusely, and took the plate away. We then ordered another item off the menu to replace it.

Then the OWNER came out and said she could only offer us 50% off of the dish (about $6). She then tried to explain that it was traditionally prepared, and the offending ingredient must be the vinegar. Having personally grown up in the SF Bay Area, I have had the privilege of experiencing a plethora of cultures and traditional meals. This was nothing like any meal I have ever had - I'm not sure if it's a regional traditionally prepared meal, but if something is not edible or enjoyable for a patron, it is typically taken off the bill without an issue.

This is completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and absolutely unbelievable. One party member let the owner know that not only were we a large party, but we also were spending a decent amount of money. At this point, the owner consented to taking it off the bill. She then quickly left without making sure we were comfortable. This was a terrible first-time experience. We will NOT be returning and not recommending it to any other family and friends.

Another issue we had was that we were not alerted prior to the kitchen closing - We were informed after the fact, when we were trying to order more food to help make up for the dishes our party members couldn't finish. I was also really looking forward to trying the mango sticky rice dessert (it's one of my favorites), but we didn't even get the chance. :(

(Savannah - This review is absolutely not a review on your service. Not only were you wonderful, you were the best part of our dining experience. Thank you so much for being so lovely and professional. We appreciate...

We usually go to Thai by Thai in Palm Coast, but this is fairly new and a little closer and we wanted to try them out. The dining room isn't very welcoming. The furniture is clearly left from the previous restaurant and they could use some decorating. The food is okay. I order the pad Thai and chicken satay at every Thai restaurant for comparison and because I really like pad Thai and chicken satay. We ordered the Thai sampler appetizer and edamame and each ordered a different entree. I've had better, but I've also had worse. My biggest complaint with the food was the edamame was overcooked. It seemed like it was boiled and had almost no salt. The good news about that was I was able to easily mash it into baby food for my grandson. The service was pretty bad. Our entrees all came out separately which isn't a huge deal, but a little odd. It was pretty irritating that we needed to wave a waitress down for tea and water refills, then still had to wait, and didn't get anymore I've in the water, and had to wait a little longer for more tea. (I had eaten my ice because I ran out of water.) One waited came by and sat a bowl of soup that was for another customer on our table. We told her it wasn't ours. Neither waitress came back again. I literally watched 3 tables get seated, served, get refills, get checks and leave while we were there. My daughter's boyfriend finally went and got to go boxes from next to the register at the front. I finally went to the register to get the check and pay. $87 for 4 of us, which is reasonable because we would've spent about 100 at Thai by Thai. I will pay the extra and drive a few more minutes to have better service, better quality, and...

Visited Thai and I on a Friday around 6:30. The food was great, although the spice level on some of our dishes wasn’t as ordered. The service was pretty poor, as only 2 servers managed the entire restaurant. I advise visiting on a week night and not a weekend. As I shared, there were two servers and at one point I counted about 12 tables and 35ish patrons. Our food all came out at different times and we were never checked on, nor asked how the food was, nor offered refills. Frustrating for a dining experience. We were quickly able to order drinks and then they were delivered quickly. Upon delivery of drinks we were ready to order, but it took another 15-ish minutes for the server to return to take a food order. The appetizer - crab Rangoon, yummy! - came out quickly, but the entrees were another story. The crispy duck (level 3) was by far and away the sweetest dish - no spice at all. About 10 minutes after the crispy duck, we received a the duck curry (level 2) which was way spicier than the crispy duck ordered at a level 3. Then about 3 minutes later the final chicken curry arrived - also a level 2, also spicier than the crispy duck. All three were delicious. I highly advise going for the food! If I were to visit again, I’d definitely go on a weekday or try the bar or perhaps order take out. I certainly don’t blame the servers for the lack of service - they didn’t schedule such limited staff! But it meant a middling experience in which everyone’s meals came out at different times, and no opportunity to share the food wasn’t prepared at the correct spice level. If you want spicy, avoid the...

I have been hearing good things about Thai & I in Bunnell and had a chance to stop in for lunch today. The restaurant itself is a small building that sits on US1. I stopped here several years ago when it was a diner and wasn't impressed but that wasn't the case today. We started out with fried dumpings, Wonton Soup and Tom Kha Gai soup with shrimp, (Thai spicy). The dumplings came out first and they were stuffed with pork. The dumplings were fried in a similar manner as Andaman's on US1, (one of my favorites). They were delicious and I would order them again. The soups came out next and they were just as amazing. The Wonton Soup was full of delicate wontons with fresh vegetables and herbs. The Tom Kha Gai soup was filled with shrimp and was extremely spicy! This was one of the spiciest soups that I have ever had at a Thai restaurant . They know they bring the spice here as there's a sign that states refunds will not be given if you can't handle the spice level ordered. We ordered Thai & I Lemongrass with Chicken, (Lemongrass, bell peppers, cabbage scallions) and Thai & I Rama with Pork, (peanut sauce, broccoli, cabbage and carrots). The lemongrass dish was fantastic and had a nice little kick, (even though it was ordered at a level 1). The Rama dish was delicious as well. It was ordered Thai spicy and they delivered. The creamy peanut sauce added a nice sweetness and blended well with the tender pork and vegetables. I'm glad to have finally had a chance to eat here and will definitely stop in again if I'm in the area.

For a new restaurant they are starting off.on the right foot. Now please keep in mind the food is 5 star and the service is working its way to 5 star. The service was good and it will get better. Be patient and you will enjoy the food. The food is amazing and when you walk up to the place ypu can smell the food and wow. I ordered the dumplings as an appetizer and if they can nail the dumplings. The rest of the food will rock. They nailed them. If you are traveling and want great food. Don't let a small town like Bunnell make you go elsewhere. You will regret it! Wheelchair entrance is the back. Don't let the stairs get in your way. Spin around the back. UPDATE 6.3.2022 .... stopped by for dinner to see how the restaurant was coming along. Holly cow, the food was better and service was better. Do not drive by this place. This is the type of place you can easily overlook. Don't don't don't... everything was amazing. If you don't like spicy. Tell them no spicy! UPDATE 11.5.2022.... wow, this place just keeps getting better and the service is top notch. My wife had the duck curry and she loved it, this has become her new favorite dish. I had the Basil vermicelli not sure what I like better. I tried 3 different Basil dishes and the vermicelli had the most Basil flavor. This place is really good and worth the drive. UPDATE 1.28.2023 .. MENU has been updated, service is faster and the food keeps getting better. When you go back to a restaurant after 6 months and it keeps getting better, keep going.

I have two countries I call home. I live part time here in northern Florida and part time in central Thailand. I have traveled extensively throughout Thailand and have eaten my share of authentic Thai cuisine from dozens of restaurants in every region of the country and I have posted reviews of many of them. I have also traveled extensively and eaten in quite a few Thai restaurants here in America. You can check for yourself on my Google Local Guide page. The menu here consists of dishes mostly from the Isaan region of Thailand where Seng herself is from. Isaan cuisine is my favorite and probably the better known style of Thai cooking. You just have to be mindful of the "heat" level when ordering. Traditionally Thai food is very spicy. Having said that, my opinion is that this restaurant is one of the better Thai food places in the area. You should definitely give it a try.
