I was there for only one minute and my blood started to boil.
I was hoping to go there and ride on my skateboard and have a good time, until I was told that I couldn't because I didn't have a helmet and pads on me.
On top of that, in this sorry excuse for a skatepark, whatever day it is determines what guests can and cannot ride. Skateboards are allowed on Tuesdays, whereas Saturdays are when only scooters are allowed.
The helmet and protection pads rule I can kind of understand, but the fact that guests are basically being segregated from going into the park based on what they're bringing (skateboard, scooter, bike, etc) and the day of the week is something I cannot get behind. Plus doesn't this system contradict this place being called a "skatepark"?
Also, why do guests have to pay? The whole point of a park (not a theme park. A park) is for people to go for a walk and for kids to play FREE OF CHARGE.
It's ridiculous, and I never want to come back here again. Don't waste your time...
Read moreGood park that turned me away on a Thursday afternoon with ZERO people at the park. Why? Because it was scooter day. I asked if I could roll around on my skateboard for a minute since there wasn't anyone there at all, and they said no. What a waste of a decent park.
EDIT:
Another day, I was pulled aside while skating by the guy from the office, and he told me that I was not allowed to film there without a permit since he saw I was wearing a gopro and apparently one of the parents of a kid skating complained. Ultimately, I told him to show me the rule that says I can't film, but then an hour later he came back and there is actually a rule that says that. In conclusion, if the rules are enforced, this is the worst city park. Obviously nobody is going to follow a no filming rule at the skatepark (everyone was filming themselves, their friends, and their kids that same day)....
Read moreAwesome park to take the kids. They have a great skate park for the kids that need to burn some energy. Playback for the little ones, a nice Baseball field to toss the ball or play a few innings. Restrooms are super clean and attendants there present to ensure that park is at top tier for people to visit.
Use of the skatepark has several schedules to accommodate skateboarding, BMX and roller blades. (Make sure you bring protective gear to use the skate park, helmet, knee and elbow pads).
Picnic areas and nice shade for a quick gathering. Overall a nice tucked gem for the neighborhood or...
