A group of over 10 of us showed up to watch my daughter play guitar and sing. Once she started, the sound check guy started talking loudly to all around him towards the back. It was very rude and distracting. After 15 minutes, I turned around and snapped my fingers to get his attention. He turned to me and I put my fingers over my lips to symbolize be quiet. He said loudly, "It's a party!" and snapped his fingers back at me as if to say f* you. I waited another two songs and he continued to talk loudly. I got up and went over to him telling him if he wanted to talk he should go down the hall, as it's very rude to the performer. He said, "Do you know who I am? I'm the sound guy." I said "Then you should know how unprofessional you're being." He said, "I can talk if I want to." I became offended and angry and said, "That's my daughter on stage we're all here to listen to, so either take it down the hall or shut the f* up!" at which point he threatened to call security. I said, "Why don't you do that," and went to sit back down. After my daughter finished her set, he came over to us and said we had to clear the room. I'm pretty sure there were other people coming to perform, so I'm not sure that was good PR for the venue, but after what happened, I had no intention of staying there anyway. And just so it's stated, I don't drink. Unless this guy's ears are pinned back, he's going to ruin everyone's...
Read moreI really dig this bar. They have a variety of specialty cocktails, I really enjoy their version of a long island iced tea. Crowd is pretty chill, they have a pool table for those who enjoy that.
For people wondering about this bar as a venue, it is a good enough size. They don't have a stage, as of my last visit almost a year ago, so get ready to get cozy with the people at your show. Loading in and out can get messy since there is no backdoor in that area, you will have to go through the crowd, which can be difficult if there is a large crowd. But this is L.A, who supports live rock music anymore lol . The sound is not great, you better learn how to keep your levels low if you want people to hear your vocalist. We did not do that and you could barely hear our vocalist, and the sound guy was pushing the speakers to a slight distortion. No Bueno!
One last thing, if the door to the bar is closed you might have a hard time finding the...
Read moreJen is the best bartender! I love going to this place to even just talk to with my best friend and drink a few beers. They hired a new girl or something I’ve never seen her before but man she Literally takes like 50 minutes to get us another round that was very disappointing at some point she looked at me and said I’ll be back and never got back to me and when I would waive she would look the other way. She was very thin and tall color blueish eyes. BTW she was very fast not even going to deny it but she just refused to help me or something idkkk but Jen took care of us. Idk her boss needs to check that bartender because she even took 10 minutes explain the drinks to this dude and didn’t mind it but when I was just sitting there she just ignored us the whole night. VERY VERY disappointing but the place is a good vibe and the staff are all very nice...
