Good playhouse, a couple of things to note to have a good time (insofar as 'the burlington players' productions go, i don't know if anything is different for the other companies).
It's a 'theatre in the round' (the seats are a squarish semicircle, really) and it's a black box theatre. the stage is 2 inches above the ground, and only one section of the seats are on risers. I could see fine, but if the theatre ever gets an unexpected windfall, more risers would make this the perfect venue.
Second, its general admit, no assigned seating. bear this in mind. please show up with your group early so you don't have to shuffle people and ask them to move. the manager (?) was coming around trying to parse out where the empty seats were to try and fill them.
Third, the actors don't use mics- or they weren't, at our performance at the time of writing. It's all raw vocal power and projection. be respectful of it.
Fourth and finally- wonderful theatre, but space is tight in the lobby area. if you're claustrophobic or have trouble with crowds, bear it in mind. If it were me, I'd invite the cast's loved ones to see their loved ones in the theatre area vs the...
Read moreCute little space. I have been to a couple plays. These are local players, not professionals. With that being said, quality is pretty good. Setup is really unusual, but they do a great job working with it. Place is usually really hot or cold, depends on outside weather. Definitely recommend it, be prepared for tight spaces, but open arms. Place does not look nice, but you aren't going there for a nice place. Seats were a little uncomfortable, but they are supposed to be getting new...
Read more"Kodachrome" is a gem and must see. Saw it yesterday 11/10. For a one act play, it was packed with emotion. Funny, sad and engrossing. The theater is perfect as the smaller size makes it more intimate and perfect for this play. Because of that, the actors all have to be on the top of their game...
