I shop at this Target often and have always had a great experience. And today I noticed an encounter that was not a great reflection of this establishment serving all of its patrons equally. There was a man who was using the self check out and was struggling to ring up his produce. He asked for support and the employee, who had to come back and forth numerous times, lost her patience and compassion really quickly. I later stopped the man and spoke to him in Spanish hoping he spoke it as well. English was not his first language and he was having trouble understanding the price of produce. I wish this man had been met with some compassion and patience instead of frustration. It’s a hard experience to be a nonnative English speaker and try to navigate prices posted in only English. I hope management provides some tools or resources for this Target to support its growing minority or nonnative speaking community as equally as it does its other patrons. As a daughter of nonnative English speakers, it tears my heart to believe that my parents have experienced security guarding up to check their receipts because of a misunderstanding at the register instead of having...
Read moreI like the smaller size and the convenient location, but this store never seems to have what I need (even if they nominally carry it) and checkout is painful. Today about half of the self service registers were out of service, none of the regular registers were open, and two employees stood chatting at the customer service desk while customers stood in line waiting for the self service registers. I put back the one item I’d found in stock and left the store empty handed. I almost never even bother going here anymore. Update: I gave this store another chance as I needed a cleaning product they stocked and I was nearby. Nada. It’s available at several other Targets but not this one. Cheaper (price, gas, and my time) and easier to order from Amazon. How stupid is that? I’m done with...
Read moreThey don't have as many products as other Targets and sometimes run out of things. They also hardly have anyone at the registers, so you have to go to self-checkout. However, they added a 10 item or less rule, so you are basically forced to wait in a long line.
I decided to use self-checkout with more than 10 items and a random woman (who was 99% a Target employee, just not on shift at the time) told me that self-checkout is 10 items or less and to keep that in mind for next time.
They should really consider having more staffing before implementing a rule like that and expecting us to follow it. Definitely go to a different Target, or store in general,...
